Re: Work in progress: REALMS OF QUEST V

I'm following this thread with a lot of respect. I envy your patience with this huge task of finding and converting graphics, I'm sure I would have quit this project as soon as I would have realized how much work it is. Realms V will set a very high mark for every other future RPG for the VIC!

Re: SuperCPU for the Vic-20

Ah, this is so clever - I needed a few moments to understand your concept, basically you created a sort of port or I/O registers from 65C02 to 6502 with an address and a data port. A little bit like the C128 talks to its VDC, if I think about this. My first idea was to reserve a backbuffer in 65C02 ...

Re: SuperCPU for the Vic-20

No wishful thinking on my side, I simply wanted to clarify that Eslapions 4K dual port SRAM would mean a mainboard modification which is not part of this project. Maybe my wording wasn't clear enough...

Re: SuperCPU for the Vic-20

Please excuse my ignorance, but changing RAm at $1000-$1FFF would mean soldering on the mainboard, right? As far as I understand the SuperCPU as implemented by Kakemons just sits in the expansion port, ready to run without modification of the mainboard - or did I miss something?

Re: SuperCPU for the Vic-20

Thanks for your explanation, very interesting. This will be very fun to experiment with!
as it will be mounted manually.
I hope this means mounted by you as I am definately not able to solder...

Re: SuperCPU for the Vic-20

An accelerator card for the VIC-20? I'm definately interested in this! Could you give some more insights about how to use the 65C02 from the VIC? How to start programs on it etc. I'm not sure if I understand The 65C02 is accessible from the Vic-20 side as expanded memory. Is the 65C02 running parall...

Re: Looking for PRG-files from Compute's programming the VIC

Mmh, really strange with the cursor keys. But I can confirm the "= is on shift-0" behaviour in both mappings. The english key mapping is not from me, someone (sorry, can't remember who) made it and send it to me for inclusion in the final version. It seems as if there was some misunderstan...

Re: Looking for PRG-files from Compute's programming the VIC

By the way, it took me a while to figure out the the '=' symbol is mapped to shift-0, and there are some other keyboard peculiarities. Is this because I'm using Basedit in Wine on Ubuntu? Or because I have my Ubuntu keymap to US? Would a German keymap work better? The default keyboard mapping is ge...

Wow, impressive
I'm out of the retro zone for the moment (busy with work and life), but I suddenly feel an urgent need to get back to my beloved VIC coding with this sort of modern development tool.
