Re: The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

As measurements by Tommi and me are showing, this cannot be guaranteed with an EPROM-based PLA. The measurements you provided were clearly fabricated and I was able to do the same thing. :-) You were able to fabricate measurements as well? Why would they make it up, are everyone measuring the same ...

Re: The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

That's right, one problem with the first mentioned schematic is this:

Upon pressing reset, VCC and GND meet in the node of the X.

Re: The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

Kind of crappy that a site dedicated to AR has a faulty schematic on display. There's Jerzy's version as well, they guy who published drawings with errors for the diagnostic harness - IIRC. http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/schematics/cartridges/c64/freezer/action73.gif I compared the two when ...

Re: The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

Yes, that's also in my eBay search, haven't had the money available when there has been a chance to get one. I believe I read somewhere that 4.1 and up uses the same type of hardware, the way it works at least. I looked at this schematic and the one from Jerzy Sobola (I think he's called) even had a...

Re: The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

I'd like to make my own schematic from a clone cart. The implementations out there usually has some little extra things that works for Retro Replay and the other compatible things, code is done in modules, it's not that easy just to lift out the needed code for just the simple ordinary AR6. I'm sure...

Re: The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

Not sure the up to date datasheet is important, it's an obsolete chip. I was referring to the XC9536 and not the XC9536XL so I don't know what you disagree about, I just quoted the "old" datasheet. The XL may work fine, it wasn't something I was looking for it requires some extra component...

Re: The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

I've got one 7ns and one 15ns, the 7ns isn't built, I've also got extra 7ns circuits, maybe six or seven. But just these two boards right now. Do you want both? Too bad they don't share the code, just the JED-file. XC9536 datasheet: http://www.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheets_pdf/X/C/9/5/XC9536.shtml...

Re: The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

I believe the XC9536 is obsolete, DigiKey has it listed but they only have the XL version in stock - which is "3V". The link I first posted to eBay are 5ns chips, it was tested by a poster at the nighfallcrew site and didn't work, the image with the non coated version has a 7ns, I have use...

Re: The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

Found a poor image of one of mine, it has a capacitor as well: http://s10.postimg.org/ce0r0icwl/IMG_4554.jpg Here's my "working" eprom PLA, some atmel '010 IIRC, at least it worked with what I tried at the time - a loong time ago... it started working after adding the combination of capaci...

Re: The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

So, you're wrong about it being a 3V (or close) chip, 3V chip is the XC9536XL, this is a 5V compatible chip that needs 5V when programmed - there's no hidden regulator in the image I posted, I have built four of those myself (image doesn't show my build), it's just the one chip. You usually keep to ...

Re: The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

Is there anything wrong with the XC9536 solution, I haven't had any troubles at all finding them on eBay when I wanted to get some.

Re: BasEdit.NET

Yes, some extra byte in there that is handled in the program, probably the easiest way to solve it. I was walking the dog yesterday and thought it might be handy to have a keymap swap sequence, when pushed you'd have the normal PC keyboard and behaviour. Ctrl+C and all those would work etc etc, togg...

Re: BasEdit.NET

Using BasEdit.net for the Tenliner competition... EXTREM... I tried the Num Lock option for the first time, and I thought the keymap changed as I did so - until I understood that I had also activated the optional commands of this laptop keyboard... :-) Apart from undo I miss "Copy", "...

Re: BasEdit.NET

There could be a reminder pop-up in a new installation "remember to push as well to upload to server" or something.

I hope I'll have time to fiddle with this a bit more before the week is over.

Re: BasEdit.NET

Push... push push push... why didn't they put that in the right-click menu? Pushing. Perhaps I need to make some translation part in the code so that the tokenlist that could have "end,eN, $80 etc... " will grab the eN and translate the N into the "in editor shifted N"-petscii co...
