Re: Vic 20 user port at no more than 1200 baud?

(SYS 1052 worked by the way). So I tried this with VICTERM 40 and I can't get the RS232 fix to work with that. It appears that it only works with Plus Term--which is a BASIC program. So for whatever reason, the ML terminal programs (VICTERM and Mighty Term) do not work with it. I'll proceed to use a...

Re: Vic 20 user port at no more than 1200 baud?

Here's a version that loads at $0400, you'll need to SYS1033 to start it. I'm sorry, the VIC-20 freezes when I do SYS1033 Looking at a disassembly: d 0409 .C:0409 20 8D FD JSR $FD8D .C:040c 20 52 FD JSR $FD52 .C:040f 20 1C 04 JSR $041C .C:0412 20 F9 FD JSR $FDF9 .C:0415 20 18 E5 JSR $E518 .C:0418 5...

Sure, where would you like it to reside?
Thanks for the quick reply! I think $0400 (1024) would be great.

Failing that, I might just use SCREEN 40 and a dumb terminal program (@2400 baud) and go from there.

Re: Vic 20 user port at no more than 1200 baud?

OK. I was able to use the wedge at 2400 baud with Ninjaterm and Plus Term. I loaded the wedge using ",8,1" and the terminal programs with ",8 +run". Also tried it with Mighty Term, but could not get it to work. Mighty Term has to be loaded using ,8,1, then sys8192. Could that be...

Re: *ALL PHYSICAL COPIES ARE SOLD OUT*: REALMS OF QUEST V (Digital version is available)

realms1.jpg I recently released version 2.00 of the game. I chose to go from 1.50 to 2.00 because I think this update provides the most tangible upgrades in terms of features. Revision 2.00 changes: -If you select the same monster that was chosen previously in the book of beasts, the file doesn't r...

Re: *ALL PHYSICAL COPIES ARE SOLD OUT*: REALMS OF QUEST V (Digital version is available)

I think with all of the recent additions, I will call the next revision, Version 2.0 I also wanted to let you all know that with the help of a translator, I've started to work on a Japanese language version of the game. I'm going to base the character set on that of the VIC-1001, which are Katakana ...

Re: *ALL PHYSICAL COPIES ARE SOLD OUT*: REALMS OF QUEST V (Digital version is available)

Oh my gosh! That spell would have been so helpful when I was playing the game. I suppose I can use it as a point of pride I completed the game before this was implemented - but I think it's a good feature as it can remove some of the monotony and frustration from dungeon exploration, since you can ...

Re: *ALL PHYSICAL COPIES ARE SOLD OUT*: REALMS OF QUEST V (Digital version is available)

It's looking great! Testing it out yields the following resulting images. :D I really like that different dunjons have different colors in the Reveal Location spell, just as the dunjon walls you see within the various dungeons throughout the game. Thanks! And here I almost considered locking away t...

Re: *ALL PHYSICAL COPIES ARE SOLD OUT*: REALMS OF QUEST V (Digital version is available)

I started tinkering with my game again. In addition to optimizing code, I just added a feature to the "Reveal Location" spell where it not only tells you what your X,Y,Z coordinates are, but it gives you a bird's eye view of the of the dungeon. It's similar to the MAP command in "Pool...

Re: *ALL PHYSICAL COPIES ARE SOLD OUT*: REALMS OF QUEST V (Digital version is available)

I have set October 1 as my final deadline where I will no longer do any more revisions to Realms of Quest V, and with just a few hours before the end of this day, I am keeping that self-imposed promise. Now, that doesn't mean that this is definitive--if someone were to show me a reproducible bug, th...

Re: [**Commercial Release Is Now Available**] Realms of Quest IV

I finally received the REALMS OF QUEST QUADRILOGY boxed set from Psytronik! They decided to re-release the collection of games with brand new artwork commissioned from, and created by industry legend Oliver Frey. The collection features a poster, keychain, pin, and manuals. realms1.jpg You can buy i...

Re: Realms Of Quest V - tell your progress in-game!

I was really hot on this game when it first came out, but I found the insta-kill squares in the dungeon so annoying that I haven't picked it up in a while. :| Yeah, there's a spell that helps, but it's all too easy to not notice it has timed out. I'm sorry that you feel that way. The game is largel...

Re: Realms Of Quest V - tell your progress in-game!

Well, I played at first with real floppies because I wanted the real experience - just like how I sometimes use the datasette to remember the complete experience of using old Commodore 8-bits. I was actually not *too* bad. I changed eventually because every monster encounter meant swapping disks, w...

Re: Realms Of Quest V - tell your progress in-game!

I've finished the game (as of August 30th, 2020)! Played on a real VIC-20. Started out with actual floppies, then about 1/4 of the way in switched over the an SD card with uIEC. Thanks for making the game, Ghislain, my VIC-20 has never gotten such a work out. Probably will play "Two Days to th...
