Thanks for the package. Just tried them all on the real thing. The picture of the rose is my favorite of those. Some pictures tend to convert better than others.

I used a tool called "DISK-FUELLER" from german 64er magazine "Sonderheft #24" that moves some sectors into unused sectors of track 18, which means you can only have fewer files in the directoy, but get up to 17 more usable blocks. However recently I have used this tool again and...

Thanks for the kind words! Can you upload the converted pics somewhere? Doing the conversions myself I know how difficult it is to find good images to convert and then find the actual best color adjustment so the conversion looks good.

Woohoo, Stretch (and shrink even), a gun and a much more sensible aspect ratio. Loves it :) Only thing missing now is Paddle-support (hint, hint) Again, don't forget the announce in the Sofware Releases of 2012-thread. In the years to come this will be where people are looking Regarding speed of C.....

Neat! How much faster compared to pure 6502-assembler would you say coding in C is and how much overhead do you assume you have memory wise compared to assembler?

Don't forget to post this game in the "VIC-20 Software Releases of 2012"-thread in the announcements! I've just tried the new version. At 150% in VICE it's pretty playable. One little quirk still happens in rare cases, I'm still not sure when this happens exactly. But after hitting the bal...

New version with a bunch of fixes. http://www.kweepa.com/step/vic20/games/kweepout.prg (Why do my game release threads always end up with a bunch of technical discussion? :) ) Isn't that a good thing? ;-) Tried the new version - but I can't get to the second level. When all blocks are gone it will ...

I'm only using one string variable, A$, and during gameplay it's only used to hold the score, so I'm not sure how it keeps growing... Any ideas? Yes, I see the problem. You use: A$=STR$(K) However, this will always reserve new space in memory for A$, until the memory is full and the garbage collect...

Nice one! Always pleasantly surprised by your versatility! Action (Doom), Text Adventure (Cometfall), Jump & Run (Blue Star) and now you even rival the Jeff's BASIC skills! I managed to finish level one but in level two the screen started going crazy. The blanks in the background were replaced w...

I think I've overcome the wall! I was working on a memory-layout for a resolution of 192x416 = 79872 pixels. I've thought about this on and off finding no solution to my character distributing problem that allows me to use just one video-RAM area. I gave up yesterday and formulated a 192x400 mode, b...

Time to sort out things a little. The note "We send fuckings to all who suggested that we should start using ram expansions" is from Robotic Liberation, probably the best VIC-20 demo around. This is a trackmo-demo that loads its parts from disk while the rest of the demo is continuing to r...

Today on CSDB there was a great tool posted by lft which may lead to a lot more SIDs being convertable: SIDRELOC which allows to relocate SIDs in memory. Works for 91% of the HVSC apparantly.
