Re: Release: CBC News App (RSS Reader)

Awesome, maybe I will add the CSDb and NASA feeds to the included config file! I also discovered how to add weather feeds for a location using The Weather Network. Interesting that you are still experiencing lock-ups. Is this on VIC-20 or C64? If it is on VIC-20, are you using srowe's RS-232 wedge ...

Re: Release: CBC News App (RSS Reader)

1200 is as fast as the kernal routines will go on either VIC-20 or C64. On the C64, if the commodoreserver.com drivers are loaded, it is possible to do 2400 baud also. In principal, 38.4Kbaud is also possible with the commodoreserver.com drivers (but I think the RSS Reader code would need to be mod...

Re: Release: CBC News App (RSS Reader)

I would love to get to the bottom of the issue with the random lockups. It is interesting to hear that it occurs with a device other than the WiModem. It seems that when we request a URL with a longer body (such as New York Times RSS feeds) then sometimes the body is truncated in the middle. I have...

Re: Release: CBC News App (RSS Reader)

Hey I just want to add how much fun this is. Nice idea for the Vic's smaller screen size. I'm using a GGLABS RS232 card running to a Raspberry PI (TCPSER). At 1200 baud is runs fine except for the random lock-ups that other have noted with Jim"s modem as well. Can't seem to find a pattern to th...

Re: Reccommend me stuff for my SD2IEC please

Mike & Orion thanks for posting this. I'll be checking it out once the sd2iec arrives.

File Archives

With my recent purchase of the Penultimate I have ordered an sd2iec to go with it.

Has anyone compiled up an zip that has all the Vic-20 programs sorted by memory requirements and type of programs?

Re: Jiffydos Vic20 issue

Yep, looks like a PAL issue. I have the switch-less version in my NTSC Vic-20 and it works great.

I always wonder why they program them to have stock Kernal as default and JD if you hold the restore down. I have always programmed the EPROMS the opposite so they default as JD on all my Commodores.

Re: Anybody getting a "Penultimate Cartridge"?

On my side, the EPROMs I ordered on Dec. 16th never arrived but the eBay seller indicated a possible arrival date range which exceeds 60 days after purchase making it impossible to file a dispute. According to the tracking information, they would be somewhere in a warehouse of a private parcel carr...

Re: Anybody getting a "Penultimate Cartridge"?

Two updates, 1. The original order of the cartridge never arrived. 2. I ordered a 2nd one via E-Bay / Paypal. It least I could dispute it and get my money back if it did not come through. It was shipped on 2/6/2017 and arrived yesterday 2/14/2017. Shipped with lots of bubble rap and in a static free...

Re: Anybody getting a "Penultimate Cartridge"?

I have to come to the conclusion that this was a scam. In no way could a package have gotten to me from the UK in 4 days. The quickest anything has arrived from out of state (not even out of the country) was 3 days.

Re: Anybody getting a "Penultimate Cartridge"?

Anyone in the US know what carrier delivered the package to your door? I'm trying to figure out who to complain to.

Re: Anybody getting a "Penultimate Cartridge"?

I have one if these and I love it. It only took 7 days to arrive in the USA after it was shipped. Do you recall when you got it? I ordered it the just before Christmas in December and It came this the first week of this month if I'm recalling correctly. The website http://www.thefuturewas8bit.com s...
