Re: Grey function keys

Both were also my line of thinking. However I did hope to see some pattern. Whenever I see a 'super rare' C64 with orange keys I think it's a fake. Like this frankenstein . I have (well I gave it to a good friend) a C64 with orange function keys. Its a 1983 Made in Canada model. It is definitely al...

Jim No Jiffydos on my machine. try booting the vic20 in unexpanded (run/stop in cart menu) and then enter the pokes Tokra gave. Works for me... I think the cart menu need hot keys f...

Re: VICMIDI release date?

tokra wrote:Glad to be of help :D So, did you use the POKE 40944,64 or did you need to skip it? Still wondering why Jim Brain himself couldn't get it to work?
I tried it with and without POKE 40944,64, and it was required to make it work.

Re: VICMIDI release date?

Doom and Popeye work on real VICs with +35K (Doom) or +32K (Popeye), so they should work on VICMIDI/Ultimem. Can you please run this program after configuring your VICMIDI: http://www.tokra.de/vic/doom/crosstalk.prg It should show (please note the scroll bar): BLK0 SEG0 PRESENT. BLK1 SEG0 PRESENT. ...

Re: VICMIDI release date?

I accordance with Jim, I created a first draft for the VICMIDI cart label. First idea is to keep it in the style of application carts from C=. Game cart style is of also possible maybe later. Due to strange things going on here with the forum frontend I cannot upload the pic into this thread. So fo...

Re: VICMIDI release date?

When you say all ram is enabled, does that also include the 3k hole? When I load up Vicdoom I get the title screen, but then the game doesn't load further. I read else ware in the forums that can occur when the 3k ram isn't enabled, but the title screen will load with 32k. The game needs the full 3+...

Re: VICMIDI release date?

Thanks Jim, Now I got it to work! One small thing to add, you can also press the right most user button and reset to bring up the normal unexpanded Vic..

So next question. I want to play VicDoom. It requires 3k+32K. How can I set this up?

Thanks!

Re: VICMIDI release date?

I was able to get it the menu and games installed by renaming flash.bin to ultimem.bin. Is there information available about how to create our own .bin files with our own selection of games and utils? It terms of activating the ram, I entered: "poke 40945,63:poke 40946,255" then return. Th...

Re: VICMIDI release date?

Thanks for all that info. I'm still not clear how to enable ram though.. Do I need to poke or peek in Vic20 basic to enable, say 32kb or ram? I don't understand how we are supposed to use the thing... If you want some games/utils on the unit: downloads flash4file and flash.bin load and run flash4fil...

Re: VICMIDI release date?

Ok, so I was able to get the vicmidi program to run.. Just to be explicit, both the vicmidi and vicmidi.prg are "prg" files. I used Dirmaster to put them on the same d64 image. On the disk they are named "vicmidi" and "vicmidi.prg", both prg files. So my next question i...

Re: VICMIDI release date?

My apologies. After I read your note, I looked in my sent folder as I had composed an email to all buyers, and noticed that it did not send. Quick notes: download vicmidi and vicmidi.prg from here: http://go4retro.com/downloads/VICMIDI/ run vicmidi (from device 10, or change the device number in th...
