Trying to play Key Quest.
A while ago I was trying to run cart files on my VIC-20, but it seemed that it wasn't easy. Some people had converted some but trying the links now to see if there are any extra games is showing dead links. so my question is, is there somewhere that has fixed versions of cart games? I'm trying to pl...

The filming was funded and it's almost finished being edited. There is a new fund raising campaign for extra archive footage, etc. It was funded after a few days, but if anyone is interested there are a few days left still to get it. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1195082866/from-bedrooms-to-bi...

UK Retro Gaming Documentary
You may have heard of this, but I thought it was worth mentioning that a publicly funded (like Kickstarter) documentary is being made and they have just put in place a sensible price for the DVD (it used to be $100). It's now $35 for the DVD with loads of extras. I have nothing to do with it, but I ...

I don't know how I missed this thread, as lately I've been looking for Vic-20 documentation for games and hardware, and it's been difficult. I was hoping there was something like Project 64 that has loads of game manuals (as well as hardware), but I couldn't find much. I'll check the links mentioned...

So if I understood that correctly, I still need RAM at block 5 regardless of the file I use, which I can't do with a normal RAM pack (I have a Vixen 16k switchable one). Hasn't anyone been able to convert them to run in a normal 16k Vic, by changing their address, as at the moment it seems like only...

Can a0 files be run on a real Vic-20?
I can play games like Gorf, Radar Rat Race, and Jelly Monsters in VICE, but I want to play them on my real Vic. I've looked at them, and they seem to be "a0" files (cartridges?), and I can't get them to run. Do I need to find a PRG version (if available), convert them to another format (if...

Thanks everyone. I now have it working in a D64 file, so I can write it to a real disk, and I have Gamebase20 running :) That's definitely the game I had when I was 11 (I'm 38 now), and it's just as bonkers as I remember  I just have to convince GB to remember I have a joystick connected, as it...

Thanks for the welcome :) I have tried about 5 different files from different websites, and they all do the same (or similar) things. The one I want is by Mr. Micro, so the Gameworx one might be different. I tried to get Gamebase20 a few days ago, but none of the links I found worked, and I couldn't...

I'm trying to run a game, but it won't run
Back in the day, I had a game on the Vic-20 that I think might be Mystery Island. I remember it being quite strange, but nothing more about it. I'd like to give it a go, but I can't get it to run. Does anyone know what I need to do to run it? I've changed to 16k mode, but it just says: Loading, Read...

Hi, My username is one I use on all forums. It's what H.R.Giger called his Alien. I'm a big fan of the film Aliens. Anyway, I've recently bought myself a Vic-20 and I thought I'd join here to pick your brains on a few things. I used to have a Vic-20 circa 1983 (I had a VCS before that), so it's good...
