I tried to contact the Mega-Cart team about six months ago. I asked if there was anything I could do to help produce this wonderful cartridge. Unfortunately, I never received a reply. :(

Re: Latest firmware for SD2IEC?

I've been shipping the Rev 11 with sd2iec-1.0.0atentdead0-7-gd321454-larsp-m1284p, which is from 9/9/2016. The latest version should work without issue on the Rev 9, 10, or 11 since they are all functionally the same. :)

Re: RFC: new FE3 User Guide

I have a Rev 9, Rev 10, and Rev 11. All of them are functionally equivalent and can run the same firmwares. I don't have any of the older Final Expansion devices.

I think the manual should be written to the R022D firmware as I and others have had issues with the R022E firmware.

Re: Pre-Orders: Final Expansion 3 Rev 11 [2nd Batch]

I'm glad your devices arrived! Thanks for posting the information on the RTC. It's a bit difficult to use but not too bad once you do it a few times. For a quick display of the current time, use the following command with the dos wedge. @t-ra @ That copies the time from the RTC to the SD2IEC error c...

Re: Pre-Orders: Final Expansion 3 Rev 11 [2nd Batch]

The FE3's SD card slot is a fully functional SD2IEC device. You use it just like you would a standard SD2IEC. Maybe you are using some sort of file browser with the other one so you don't know the commands? To change to another directory: @"CD/Directory Name To open a D64: @"CD:Program.d64...

Re: Pre-Orders: Final Expansion 3 Rev 11 [2nd Batch]

Wonderful! I'm so glad everything is working properly. I'd suggest picking up at least one of the 12" cables on the Retro Innovations site. They are a great length for going from the VIC-20 to the FE3. They are also brand new, recently made cables. I really hope you enjoy the FE3. It's really m...

Did you find a cable?

Re: Pre-Orders: Final Expansion 3 Rev 11 [2nd Batch]

That's it! :) The cartridge is self contained and the Cart Loader loads directly off the EEPROM. However, all the SD card access is done through the FE3's disk drive connection. You just need an IEC cable to make it work. You can get one from Retro Innovations. http://store.go4retro.com/commodore-ie...

Re: Pre-Orders: Final Expansion 3 Rev 11 [2nd Batch]

Umm... Silly question... Do you have a disk drive cable plugged in from the disk drive port on the VIC-20 to the FE3? If so, try another cable.

Re: Pre-Orders: Final Expansion 3 Rev 11 [2nd Batch]

Yes, the root is the SD card itself. The exposed pins are not jumpers. They are disk change buttons and other connections to the ATmega. DO NOT put jumpers on them. The switch positions are correct. The battery is only needed for the real time clock to keep time when the computer is turned off. When...

Re: Pre-Orders: Final Expansion 3 Rev 11 [2nd Batch]

Try formatting the card FAT32 then extract the contents of the SDCard folder into the root of your SD card. The root folder should only have the carts folder and loader file. If that doesn't work then you could try copying the contents of the SDCard\carts\a-c folder to the root of the SD card to see...

Re: Pre-Orders: Final Expansion 3 Rev 11 [2nd Batch]

Then there has to be a problem with the SD card. I tested your cartridge, including the Disk Loader, before sending it. What size is the SD card? What filesystem is it using?
