Re: (wip) Exit Plan Z
Yes. This is much more like a game. The slow to respond battle controls are still giving me fits though. The zombies still aren't very menacing and just sort of wander around aimlessly. Bug: After returning to the difficulty level menu from the game over screen, trying read the instructions gives a ...

A good place to ask would also be 6502.org.

Re: WIP - Demons of Dex
Seems like using an ankh doesn't give you score for enemies killed? I save one for the slime level and blasted the filled dungeon, or maybe slimes don't give you points. Got about 6400 on that run, my best so far.

Re: (wip) Exit Plan Z
Speeding up the random light flickers is an option I've already been pondering here. Generating a feeling of suspense is a primary goal in this game so I don't want to make the flicker to rapid. If you speed up the light flicker, then you can have the zombies chase you faster. Seeing the walls as o...

Re: WIP - Demons of Dex
This game has all of the flavor of a rogue-like in 5k, very nicely done. As darkatx says, the random loot is very often the deciding factor, but that's pretty true to rogue in general. I think the enemies could attempt a move in a random direction if they are blocked to prevent some of the pile ups,...

Re: (wip) Exit Plan Z
Okay, the random noises for atmosphere don't do it for me. I have some suggestions, take them for what you will. At the beginning of each level I dare not take a step until the first lightning flash for fear of bumping a wall. Sometimes this takes too much waiting for this to happen. I would recomme...

Re: WIP - Demons of Dex
Sorry I have yet to respond, but I haven't have time to try the finished product. If you are interested in more feedback, maybe make a post over at the Temple of the Roguelike forum. You'll at least get some raised eyebrows.

Re: Small assembly snippet corrupted.
Ah, In my heart, I sort of knew basic started at 1001, but figured the padding byte would help, basically I just entered the sys line and looked at it in a monitor, makes sense that I forgot the trailing zeros doing it that way. Much obliged!

Small assembly snippet corrupted.
So I know I'm over looking something basic that I probably have no knowledge about, but I have this little snippet of code I wrote as I was fooling around with the sound registers, and when I load it in VICE some of the bytes are changed that causes it to BRK. I found a workaround where choosing the...

Re: Broken VIC, or broken carts?
I sort of shelved this problem, but today I was tinkering around with this computer and entered a program to display double size letters (setting the 8x16 character bit) and lo and behold, the same symptom. So I think my chip is busted, or at least that aspect of it.

Re: Printing PDFs from bombjack's Website
I would imagine any professional copy shop would be reluctant to print the PDF of a scanned book as you don't own the copyright. Honestly it doesn't hurt to ask. Some treat it like developing film, none of my business what you want copied. Now if you wanted to print 100 of them that would certain r...

Any chance for the alternate scoring system where the number of opponents checkers left is the value of a game?

Re: Boray Gammon
The AI is strong enough for me! The response time is very fast too. I really appreciate the controls, the way you use the dice, is much better than the typical "start, end" style most of the CBM backgammons use. Some times it's a little difficult to tell just what move the computer made, as...

Trailblazer is great! And this is a great version!
I seemed to run into a bug, when I restarted a new game after dying, I "fell" directly after starting. Every other time you start you get a little forward momentum, except for the first time restarting
