Heiankyo- er, Super Alien

http://kiblitzing.blogspot.com/2014/01/can-you-dig-it-heiankyo-alien-and.html I just wanted to direct your attention to my latest article, which discusses the Japanese title Heiankyo Alien and its offspring. One of the games reviewed is Super Alien, which of course is the VIC-20 conversion of this u...

I think I played it on an emulator once. It is absolutely NOT the same as the Commodore 64 version; aside from the sharp resolution I suspect a VIC-20 version could have been better. Oh, there we go! Found an image. It plays as "good" as it looks. http://www.c64-wiki.com/images/5/59/WoW_Ma...

Ha ha, wow! That's pretty clever. I remember Microleague Wrestling and thinking it was a great idea. Those digitized images were just amazing for the time. You know, I wish you had named your Hulk-alike "Bulk Kogan." That was from a cartoon I used to watch on NBC, back in 1992... "And...

I've tried using software that retrieves data from the audio on a VIC-formatted cassette tape, but I've never been able to pull anything off the audio files. Any idea what I'm doing wrong, or is this software just unreliable?

Whenever I hear about this vehicle, I just think about Spaceballs. "Princess Vespa, at last I have you! The way I WANT to!" "Oh, stop it! Stop, stop... some more. Your helmet is soooo big!" "SIR!" "Augh, knock before you come in here! You didn't... see anything, di...

I wish you the best of luck with this. I don't have my hopes up; apparently the guy running the auction has toyed with VIC-20 fans in the past, claiming to have a prototype but providing little in the way of evidence. If you win, at least test it and get back to us with your findings. If it plays Wi...

The news was met with similar skepticism on AtariAge, which is unfortunate. Nevertheless, the auction's already up to forty dollars with no signs of stopping. I'm really hoping it turns out to be legit... I've been waiting FOREVER for this one. If the game won't autostart when inserted into a VIC-20...

This was corroborated by multiple sources... Jack used to order parts from other companies, not pay them, and continue to order parts he had no intention of buying until the companies went bankrupt. He would then buy the companies in liquidation and forgive his own debts. That's not ruthless; it's t...

There's always a rush to lionize these individuals after they die, but is Jack Tramiel worthy of the praise? He was actually a louse, as documented in this lengthy article: http://www.filfre.net/2012/04/computers-for-the-masses/ I loved Commodore, I really did. But Tramiel was an awful person, and I...

Modern PC in Commodore 64 case

http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/26/commodore-usa-announces-the-pc64-an-atom-powered-pc-in-a-replic/ Has someone posted about this already? If not, it's worth mentioning. The current owners of the Commodore brand name are making a computer with a Commodore 64 case. It's only got an Atom processor, th...

VIC-20 cartridges fit in a Nintendo DS! Who knew?

Well, that's the word from this eBay seller, anyway. Click the link and marvel at how a VIC-20 cartridge can be inserted into a Nintendo DS of the same size. http://cgi.ebay.com/IMAGIC-DRAGONFIRE-dragon-fire-VIC-20-video-game-RARE-/390216477697?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item5ada...

I'm finished with the game. Feel free to download it from my web site if you're so inclined.

(The incompatibility with some flash carts should be fixed now.)

Anything to report since I fixed the binary?

EDIT: Word on GBAtemp is that the game runs fine on 3-in-1 cartridges now.
