Well, I recently found the manual for the 32K-version, which shows already that things are rather complicated with the dip switches (off means RAM on for some areas...). Anyway, this could be a starting point. Would love to find the manual for the 64K-version as well http://www.tokra.de/vic/memmaker...

C116 ($49 computer to compete with the Sinclair Spectrum). Always destined to fail though. It was too little too late to tackle the spectrum market. Should have been at least 48K to even stand a chance. Probably true. We'll never know. Commodore screwed it up themselves with the Plus/4 and C16 and ...

I would be more interested in a C116 (with the rubber keys), since this was the original concept of the machine ($49 computer to compete with the Sinclair Spectrum). There is a nice talk of Bil Herd on c128.com explaining this in detail.

No reason to buy an old, used joystick from Ebay. New joysticks for retro-computers are still being made. Luckily they nearly all shared the same connector. You can get one here e.g.:

Uuuuuuuuh! NICE! I've always hoped for an automated converter to be available for the fantastic SID VICIOUS. Too bad this takes up most of the VIC-20 CPU-time. But still nice for splash-screen in Minigrafik maybe (Maxigrafik and FCB take up the CPU as well...).

Can't wait for the final converter!

New version with proportional font! Looking nice! However I needed to activate 24K RAM expansion for it to work. With 16K I get a CPU JAM at $64B8 in VICE. Maybe this is due to the decruncher? If you pack a game tightly into 16K there is no room for the decruncher to do its work. It looks like you ...

Neat! Will you put the files up on pouet.net and link to them from here? Would like to see this on a real VIC.

Yes, it's a little tricky. That's why I made my own example after I got it :D A command line like: exomizer sfx 26603 -t52 -n auto.prg has the following meaning: sfx = create auto-start-program 26603 = this is the start address of the program after decrunching, eg. SYS26603 (you can use basic instea...

I'd prefer a single file as well if possible. Just easier to handle than a .d64 and if one wanted to transfer it to tape that would be possible as well. Using pucrunch or exomizer (which I prefer) all those 0-bytes are just happily crunched away :D

Anything that adds to readability is welcome :) . Another solution would be to add rows/columns keeping the VIC regular characters. BTW, when playing those adventures in VICE, I use a lower aspect ratio (0.5) And suddenly LONGSCREEN does not seem so silly anymore. I still wouldn't turn my monitor s...

Great work! I was going to suggest using a more eye-friendly font, but I see you are even going for a proportional font compared to fixed-width. I think that has never been done on the VIC, so way to go!

This is standard VICE-behaviour. You should disable the "Write .P00"-option in "Settings-Peripherhal settings" in VICE. Then it will always overwrite the same file. However for a real 1541 this will provide a "FILE EXISTS" error. So you have to use the @: option to over...

WTB: VIC-20 NTSC with DIN-power connector

As noted here I'm looking for a NTSC VIC-20 with a DIN-power connector. Looking for some weeks on ebay.com I realize that this is probably not the way to go. To many "not sure if it works", extremely high shipping costs and poorly described items I cannot make out the power connector on an...

Nope, never did business with him, just noted the site was listed in a C64-DiskMag once. However since emails sometimes fall off the radar, you should be able to just call him. I see he has a phone-number in the "Impressum" on his page.
