To be perfectly honest, I have not wanted a game console ever since I replaced my Atari 2600 with a Vic 20. It's like, you buy the console, you buy some games, you play the games, then what? The novelty wears off; we played that Atari 2600 every day when it was new, but after the first month or so, ...

Old Vic 20 commercials

My apologies if this has already been posted, but I came across this web site that had a bunch of Vic 20 commercials: http://www.commodorebillboard.de/Main/Index2.htm Pretty obvious the Vic 20 was targeted at Atari's market; I wonder if that contributed to the video game console crash at the time? A...

Vic SuperExpander: Is it really that super?

I noticed a Vic Superexpander for sale, part number VIC-1211A. It only adds 3K of RAM. Does it do anything else for the Vic?

Well, that'll teach me. I decided to pop in the word processing disk from "Gold Disk's All in One" in my external A1011 disk drive. It made a horrendous noise. It hasn't read a good disk since. Lesson learned? Do not use disks of unknown origins in classic, irreplacable disk drives. :(

Drat. According to my schedule, I'm going to be working nights on the third Thursday of every month until April, unless I can make some other arrangements.

I'd definitely like that keyboard...I tried glue, that didn't work out so well.

I'd use a halogen lamp for showcasing a collection rather than flourescent; the light that is cast looks so much nicer. In any case, a UV filter in front of the flourescent tube ought to minimize the effects.

6502dude, you're the second person to invite me to a meeting. I'm definitely going to try to make an effort to attend one this year. The last time I went to a computer club meeting, it was an Amiga club here in Oshawa. Back in '91, if memory serves me correctly.

"Gold Disk's All-In-One programs provide everything you need to get the most out of your Amiga, and your creativity." So says the box. It includes Paint (a graphics application), Music (for creating music with MIDI support), Write (has spell checking and document analysis), and three "...

I am currently residing in Oshawa, Ontario. My plans are to first get the Vic back to what I originally had, with a C2N datasette drive and keyboard with no busted keys. My next step then would be to give it a dedicated "Monitor" (probably just a 12" TV) and "Desktop." After...

This past week, I went to the local Value Village; lo and behold, I found 3 Commodore 8 bit serial cables. I bought one, inquired about the computers and disk drives they would've been used for, but they didn't seem to exist. A couple of days later, I decided to return to buy the other two serial ca...

Greetings, fellow Vic fans

Allow me to introduce myself. My first computer was a Commodore Vic 20 in 1983. Up until then, at computer camps, computer shows, and at retail displays, people would all crowd around the new Commodore 64, leaving the Vic 20 all to me. I was only interested in learning about computers; I didn't care...
