Re: C16 64k S-RAM internal expansion (no motherboard modify!) and +4 ROMset option
A new "64KxC16" owner wrote me: "My video is live here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoylA3OWLLI Thank you for your wonderful product! I have recommended it to 2 friends already " Ok, now the SMD version of this project is available: so same characteristics in less space.... h...

C16 SMD 64k S-RAM internal expansion (no motherboard modify!)
"SMD64KxC16" : the SMD version of my homonymous Static-RAM expansion "64k xC16", an original project that is well working since before June 2019: http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9395 It's funcion is to expand the C16 memory from 16K to 64K...

FOR SALE: "wireless" JiffyDOS for C16 (PAL/NTSC)
Now I'm proposing a JiffyDOS "wireless" solution: it will be sufficient to plug it on kernal socket and it will work without piercing the case and WITHOUT EXTRA WIRES! How to handle switching between kernals? The C16 will boot-up with standard kernal (I prefer always that on standard boot-...

Re: SaRuMan-64 C64/C64c 64k static RAM for DRAM replacement board
You need the CLK signal only when using static RAM and only because the stupid TED stretches the CAS and R/W (...) PLUS4 use the same architecture and CPU that is used into the C16. Into a PLUS4 inside the shield box you can find a TED chip, the same chip that is not compatible with saruman-ted wit...

Re: SaRuMan-64 C64/C64c 64k static RAM for DRAM replacement board
To make it simply: C16 is a PLUS4 without some I/O and with less memory, but the system is the same : the 264 system (TED, CPU, timings...). If saruman-ted need CLK signal to work into '264 system it implies that this signal is also necessary for the saruman in PLUS4! (and the address multiplexing i...

Re: SaRuMan-TED 64k RAM for C16 and C116
I do see a problem with your solution; both outputs (!Q0 and !Q1) from the second (Y) selector will require pull-up resistors It don't need any pull up resistors, "H" on /E input doesn't drive in high impedance the outputs, but simply it will deselect all of them (deselected line= "H...

Re: SaRuMan-TED 64k RAM for C16 and C116
Ok, now that you have updated the schematic of V1.4 (now V1.5?) I have no more perplessity about its wellworking, but I noticed that this patch is done with another gate located into a "single gate chip", but all it can be done in a more elegant way with a single 74 chip. I wrote a "p...

Re: Soliciting VIC-20 Internal memory expansion ideas
For banking registers, read this: http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7993&p=87216#p87216 because there are the VIAs area that can be better decoded for found others free registers address inside it. Another example of possible solution that can be done inside...

Re: SaRuMan-TED 64k RAM for C16 and C116
I will kindly ask you to refrain from posting in the threads related to my products, as I do with yours. Yes, excuse me but I was victim of my technical curiosity, and now that the V1.4 SARUMAN-TED pass the DIAG 264 tests there are not reasons to speaking about it ... I have "reduced" my ...

I have a different style on projects development process, as example I have some perplessity on your V1.4 but you declare...

Re: SaRuMan-TED 64k RAM for C16 and C116
Thanks for satisfy my technical curiosity. Since my little Chinese friends left me stuck with more than 20 PCBs of V1.2, they are free to a good home. Would you be interested in a few ? For the old PCBs I don't know what to do with them, so thanks but I'm not interesting in them. I noticed that into...
