SNAKMAN

I have the Snakman 1.1 tape and it appears the only way to run it is with the shift-runstop (auto load/run) Has anyone ever tried to create a disk file of this? I tried to load the game and save it but it behaves strange. Is there some strange copy protection? Any help/input would be appreciated. Jo...

Looking for Compute! books

I am looking for Compute!'s X Book of Games for the Vic-20 books.

Anyone have extra copies or know where I can find them

I used to own the 1st and 2nd when I was a kid but mom gave them away. LOL

Thanks,

Jonathan

Thanks, Mike. 23 columns is what I will have to go with for it to work globally.

Centering 24 columns - and 1702 monitors

I am writing a game that I would like to use 24 columns. I am able to get it to display very nicely on my emulator for the MAC (Power20). I also ran across the following code, from Herr Mike I believe, that does it even nicer. POKE36864,PEEK(60900)-3 POKE36866,(PEEK(36866)AND128)+24 ..... (original ...

Cleaning did not help. I tried the scotch bright technique and I even added some gentle cleaning liquid. I opened the cartridge and it looks like all the pins are there and nothing is broken. I would have assumed this to be the case since the cartridge tries to run and aborts in various places. It d...

Fixing a cartridge?

I have the Vic-20 Donkey Kong cartridge and when it attempts to run it shows a blue border at times. At times it might show Press F1 to start. Nevertheless it does not work. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? What does it sound like? A connector pin being lost? Connector pins needing to ...

Blank 2. 1st level character 3. 2nd level character 4. 4th level character 5. solid, unchangeable character 6. 1st level with special power 7. 2nd level character with special power 8. 3rd...

Thanks, Wilson.

I am growing to love this forum but it is causing me not to think as much. :-)

All I need is to calculate the bits and come up with a little conversion routine. Perfect!!

Another programming opportunity

Assumptions: 1. The screen area is 7 x 10. This is logical positions as opposed to physical (not that it matters). The issue is there are 70 possible positions. 2. Each logical screen position can contain up one of three different characters. 3. I want to predefine 20 (or so) screens for my game. 4....
