Can anyone explain this PET command?
I got a PET 4032 about a month ago (used these at school and have always wanted one), and I've noticed that a few programs make the screen larger vertically. I'd just re-sized the screen with the pot on the screen's board, then I saw this happen with some software (luckily, it's only the corners of ...

Re: Unpublished Italian game: SATURN CAVES arcade adventure
I just tried the Google Translate app and pointed the camera at the screen and saw that the text was the same as I'd read in that document that you kindly translated. The extra bits about the line numbers didn't give any extra info.

Re: Unpublished Italian game: SATURN CAVES arcade adventure
This should do it: 3697 if peek(837)=0 then poke 4291,32 And it looks like we need to change line 480 to be from "0 to 10" We need to find Fabio Siana, or get an Italian to read the Italian text with the listing to see if there are any clues to the extra ring, end graphic, or other things ...

Have you managed to see the laser actually do anything? I thought it was to save you from attack if you shine a torch at one and it runs at you, but I've just been getting killed the same.

Re: Unpublished Italian game: SATURN CAVES arcade adventure
Looking better :-) I think there are extra pixels at the top left/right of the main 'block' graphic (arrow left). The bottom corners have curved corners, but at the top it's flat. The end of game character definitely looks like a 5 to me on the scan, but the graphic doesn't look like anything. I don...

Re: Unpublished Italian game: SATURN CAVES arcade adventure
If I knew which data statements were the ring and the crashed ship I could have a go at reading them and see if I get different numbers. Since the graphics are already loaded in memory and we don't run the loader I can't see the listing for it. Is the listing available so we can check the data state...

Re: Unpublished Italian game: SATURN CAVES arcade adventure
For some reason (probably distracted watching the Revision demo party), I didn't think this was listable and didn't try. It seemed like it would be an sys if I tried. Even finding the listing document didn't make me try  Thanks, Ian. That looks much better. I'll stick a video up in the next co...

Re: Unpublished Italian game: SATURN CAVES arcade adventure
I've been playing this and enjoying it. I mapped it and got to the end, though it seems to kill me and says something like "that's what happened to the original ship". There are 10 rings to collect, though it actually has 11, and one is at the bottom right where you can't get in. Screen 7 ...

Comparing memory to find a changing value
I'm playing Saturn Caves (I like it and want to put a full playthrough on YouTube), and I get to the end and it seems to suggest that I didn't do it right. There is also a collectable and other exit that is inaccessible. I don't know what to do (I've read the instructions) so wondered if I can at le...

Re: RAM expansions
Thanks for your help, that's great. I saw one earlier that mentioned the write protect, and wondered what it was for. The FULL-RAM one looks good, so I think I'll go for that, and the reset switch will be very good to have. The DIP switches are a bit of a pain, but at least you can change them witho...

RAM expansions
Since I only have 16k (Vixen switchable), I was going to get the MAXRAM+ from TFW8B, but after seeing it, the very next day it went out of stock before I bought one, and now they might not be any more. I've looked on eBay and can see a £15 board based on Ruud's design, but it uses DIP switches, whic...

Re: Any German and English speakers? - I've translated a game
Thanks, Mike. I've changed that. In England (at least where I live) we always call them Catapults, but I've changed it to slingshot if most people would call it that. Google Translate said slingshot, but I've never called one a slingshot, so did it as catapult. I've attached the English slingshot ve...

Any German and English speakers? - I've translated a game
I'm trying out Thriller from 1984. It's in German and I though it would be good to have an English version. If anyone can ready German and English, could you have a quick look at these screens and see if the translation is okay? I had to add extra words and re-write parts as I used a Hex editor to d...
