Re: New Release: Exit Plan Z 2

I was just about to suggest it. By compiling it, the speed and the overall experience will be dramatically changed, and you will be hard pressed to recognize your own zombies. You may need some tweaking afterwards on the controls. If I may, I'd also eliminate or reduce the moving sounds, as the VIC ...

Re: New Release: Exit Plan Z 2

Nice, I like "get the key" games, kind of reminds me of Bewitched and Tutankham.
Anyway, I hope they don't literally "meat" me when I get to the rooftop! :D

Re: WIP: Pyrotech

Thanks! I agree, the controls are a bit cumbersome, but that is part of the challenge somehow :D Perhaps I could introduce a delay to make them more precise (but the character would move in steps, and this being BASIC the whole game would be slowed down). I've got a thread open in Programming about ...

Re: Symbolic keyboard map for XVIC - Italian

Is this documented anywhere? I guess I'd have to replace the four digit number at the beginning of each directive. Examples: 2 0 0 8 /* 1 -> 1 */ 3 0 7 40 /* 2 -> 2 */ According to the commented lines in the file itself, the syntax is supposed to be this: - normal line has 'keysym/scancode row colum...

Symbolic keyboard map for XVIC - Italian

Any chance of finding a working win_sym_it.vkm file to use in VICE XVIC?
The one provided in the X64 folder does not work with XVIC for some reason.

Re: Strange-looking C64

Based on what I've found, it seems that when Commodore released the C64 C (with the new case and the new cost reduced slim board) Australian manufacturer Micro Accessories released a replacement case for the older version of the C64. So this is not an Australian version of the C64, rather a standard...

Re: A little joystick weirdness

Promise you won't bash me! I know it's probably some lame code :-P I will post the lines which I think are relevant. So, I am reading the joystick with J1% and J2%. DP% is the direction of the movement. LV% is the current location. NL% is the new location. RI% is the current row and CO% is the curre...

A little joystick weirdness

I've noticed a glitch in my BASIC game. The main character is moved with a joystick. I've introduced some kind of inertial damping in its movements, controlled by a variable. So when the joystick is idle, the variable is set to 1. When the joystick is moved, the damping variable is checked. If it's ...

Re: WIP: Pyrotech

Thanks; in the meantime I've decided to tweak it further after all, so a version 1.2 is underway. EDIT 1: I've released version 1.2, which is meant to be the final release unless there are bugs. EDIT 2: I'm adding some finishing touches to version 1.2. Eventually it will pop up in the "Software...

WIP: Pyrotech

EDIT: the game is released, so I've removed the download from this thread; the game can be downloaded from the Announcements thread ; this thread can be used to discuss the game and report bugs. Thanks =) Dear forumers, I concocted this little game in 2016. I've just finished working at a revised v...
