Re: 1530/1531 Datasette Unit - How many made?
Stop pushing that old PageTable article. I run the serial database, and that is just wrong. I've done the same analysis on the same information I can get to 20 million easily. 326298 A 337532 326298 B n/a 326298 C 99547 326298 TOTAL 437079 250407 1238489 (ignored, they are probably in numbers below)...

This is no different than the game that comes in the VIC manual.

Re: Split cost of keyboard repair?
Unless you have the little round pads like the PET keyboard, it will not work. The rubber part of the VIC/C64 keyboard is a flexible oddly-shaped contact and this coating will just come off. Pull all the key stems and drop them in a bowl of amonia. Leave for 3-4 days, then rinse them off with alcoho...

Re: Sphere-1: First true personal computer?
Problem is of course everyone has their own opinion of what constitutes "personal" or "computer". To me, having a keyboard or display doesn't mean anything, but to others it does. The Apple I or even the II didn't come with a monitor, and they didn't make one, while the PET and T...

Re: EasyFlash64 file browser?
I've always had that as the first file on my SD2IEC cards. So you just hit CBM+RUN and it comes up in about a second with JiffyDOS and most other kernals.
You could probably make an Easyflash CRT out of the PRG file and get it to come up a little faster or completely automatically.

Most likely it just got a new C64 keyboard later in life.

Re: Thorm EMI prototype carts?
Looks like someone (not me) finally took a shot and bought this lot on eBay, so maybe we'll see if the Porky's prototype is real.

Re: VIC-20 was working, now dead unit
Another simpler problem could just be the power switch. Surprisingly, I've had these go bad in more than one VIC.
Check with a multimeter that it's actually switching.

Yes, JiffyDOS-equipped drives work with standard C64 kernal also, it will just have no speedup.

Re: The VIC 20 is brilliant thread
Well, since the 6502 has no memory or register protection, then yes of course the 6502 is "vulnerable".
All memory and registers are always available to any other program you run.

Strange, that is the part that Ricoh cut out of it for the NES. It has been said that was the only part that was patented? I find that hard to believe, but who knows.groepaz wrote:the ROM _does_ use decimal mode at least...

Re: Attack UFO - Arcade game that uses the 6560
Hi Groepaz,
I tried this years ago, and you got much further than I did. I was hoping it would be a quick hack also, but I found there was too much that would have to be patched...
I think it is compiled code from some other language also- no sane person would program in assembler that way...
