Re: Vic colours question? [SOLVED]
It really is great news. Now I just 'need' a memory expander cartridge of some kind.

Re: Suggestions for GP cart
Jim, would this cartridge theoretically be able to be used as a printer interface and a switchable RAM expansion?

Re: Vic colours question?
It's a made-in-Canada NTSC machine, so it's channel 3 or 4; and I had the same colour issues, just a less clear picture using the RF. I will try the slight tweak.
EDIT: Small tweak = great success. All colours working. Lovely to see a VIC20 on a 1802C monitor.

Re: Vic colours question?
I have to pry the metal shielding off to do that, yes? Just a flat-head screwdriver to open up the compartment?

Vic colours question? [SOLVED]
I just got a physical VIC, as noted elsewhere in the forums, and picked up a 5-pin to RCA plugs cable, which seems to work, except that on boot up I'm getting white with yellow border instead of blue! I wasn't able to get much of a picture at all with the RF adaptor that came with the system. But th...

Re: Tips on moving to Linux?
Yeah, Win7 is very stable. I have yet to bluescreen it after 3 1/2 yrs, including having my kids throw my laptop on the floor *while on*. Lubuntu works really well on the older computer I put it on at work. So I'd vote in favour of it.

Re: Why still use tape?
I do have a Datasette (actually, two of them, come to think of it). I just remember tape being a much more frustrating load device than disk. Thanks for putting up with my questions! :) I love Commodore computers and it does my inner 12-year-old well to have a complete complement of the computers fe...

Re: Why still use tape?
Thanks for this; but should you really need to worry too much about tape loading address issues in the SD2IEC era? Genuine question. Should you really need too worry too much about VIC-20 in the PC-era ? Genuine answer! Fair enough; but I'm thinking in terms of stability of storage and th...

Re: Getting a Vic for under $100 on ebays is getting impossi
The day I bought my C16 locally, the same retrogaming store had a VIC-20 but the VIC was missing keys and definitely looked beat up, but the 16 was fine. So I guess it depends where you're looking?

Re: Sv: Getting a Vic for under $100 on ebays is getting imp
Well... I'd love a VIC, it's the only 8-bit Commodore I don't have in my collection that I'd like to have (I have 2 64Cs, a 128, and a 16, all NTSC). Hmmm... it seems to be missing a few Commodore 8-bitters in your collection. ;-) Plus/4, C116, all of the PETs, the B128 and its cousins, the Ultimax...

Re: Getting a Vic for under $100 on ebays is getting impossi
Found a $4 connector at the local hobby/electronics shop to hook my TV up to the VIC. Works great.
Now I just need a memory expansion.
