I actually like the monochrome one. It's reminiscent of the Game Boy games. It would be great to see something like this on the Vic. After seeing the demo that's on the VCS I'm pretty sure the Vic could do at least as well. It actually surprises me that the original Mario Bros game wasn't released o...

Well, you won't have to pay upfront for the Megacart so I still say join the queue. You'll have plenty of time to save up. :) BTW, which SD2IEC to you end up going for? I bought one of those ones in the blue case and the reset buttons. It came really quickly, it's well built and it even came with tw...

Cool. Thank you. :)

I am incredibly bad at programming and have always put cursor key presses in my print statements as I knew of no other way. POKEing just has to run faster than that!

I don't have a FB3 but I used to have a TV Boy which is pretty similar. Basically, a VCS on a chip. I enjoyed some of the games. The usual suspects like the Space Invaders port and that sort of thing... But when I finally got around to getting a real VCS it totally changed my view. Like the Vic, the...

Thanks! I want one, but isn't the lead-time like a year?
Yep, so the sooner you join the queue, the better!

Congratulations to you for joining the Friendly club. Now, you too can join us in denial!

If you're looking for a utility to make programming easier on the Vic I'd suggest the Programmer's Aid cart. It give some useful extra commands and shortcuts on the function keys, that sort of thing but anyone can run the programs you create without needing the cart too. It's kind of like an extreme...

Usually it's just an age thing and is harmless. If I recall it's something to do with the coil transformer being cracked over time or something...

It does seem a bit of bad luck that both your PSU's buzz though. That would drive me crazy too!

So, can I ask something?

If you put the above line between two print statements the program would print the first statement in the top left as normal and then the second line would print wherever X and Y are?

I agree. Imagine if Commodore had released it at the initially proposed price point and with 9 pin joystick ports... The world could be a very different place. *ponders*

It was a great wee machine...

Can I Play Impossiblator 3 On SD2IEC?

I've seen the demo running on Youtube but I really want to see it on the real deal. My problem is that I have no way of getting the PRG or D64 onto a real floppy drive. I can't get it to run on the uIEC or SD2IEC (the same thing anyway!). Is there a workaround? Here's the link at Pouet in case you d...

The Vic version is definitely the best home version as far as I'm concerned. What makes it the killer game for you? Is it the graphics fidelity or that it doesn't flicker like the really bad VCS version? I'm curious. :)

Your 'Killer App' On The Vic?

Every machine has its merits and its must-have titles but what, for you, is the Vic 20's killer app? I was thinking about this today and decided to pick one from 'back in the day' and one from the current generation of games. My killer app of old would have to be Matrix (AMC to you North Americans!)...

@Kweepa; Ha! I wouldn't even know where to begin!

Clowns is a great game though. I prefer it to Circus Atari on the VCS - I just wish I could score higher. :)

I've never really played Super Smash. That's more like Super Breakout isn't it? I'll need to try it out again this evening...
