Looking into it the 6580 and 6522(x2) are the ones that would have to stay the original size (and be stripped from a donor Vic), everything else can have a newer version which is much smaller than the original.

A "Vic20 for dummies" size should be possible, but what about the keyboard? :)

And the GB would be alive/survive there...I'll help seeding :wink: So you are saying upload it to a closed shop website? I had never heard of underground-gamers until I saw your post, ...

Just reading back over this thread and coupling it with a post on one of the plus 4 forums. You say 256 "simple" sprites could be handled. If someone had the skills and time would Lemmings be at all possible on the Vic? An open source project for the DS already exists with the source here ...

I agree that torrents would never be best for only distribution but I would imagine that the first few weeks of it being uploaded would be the biggest hit on the server as everyone tries to download it and between newsgroups and torrents it might just take the pressure off the server for the initial...

To save on bandwidth could you not upload the whole archive as a rar or similar to newsgroups (alt.binaries.emulators.cbm for instance) and also make it available as a torrent (much as I hate them as they are so slow)?

Stick with the Commodore convention

White/beige = recreational software
Brown = programming/hardware expansion

Now Jim, what does the software going in the carts do? ;)

Would there be a problem with say weekly updates to say what position you are currently at on the list? I know where I am and expect my order to probably be at least 3 months down the line but it would be nice to see how the list is progressing. I understand if you dont want to give that information...

Michael, I apologise if I upset you by quoting your code, I have edited my post to remove it to avoid any more problems. One thing that does puzzle me though is the comment about the buggyness of the VICE converter and cut and paste option. If VICE was to convert all upper case to lower case automat...
