Thanks buzbard, some of your colors look *really* strange though. Nobody else from NTSC-land? I know you're out there, don't be shy. The more pictures I get the better the end product will be.

Help needed from NTSC-VIC-users

I'm working on a yet super-secret program for the NTSC VIC-20 (which I luckily got from eslapion some weeks ago, thanks!). I have the feeling my VIC is displaying the colors wrong as especially Light Orange looks nothing like it should and Light Red and Light Purple look virtually the same. Can othe...

I suppose going 60 miles an hour on an open highway with cruise-control is a lot less demanding than going 120 miles an hour on a crowded german autobahn with some high-powered BMW creeping up on you in the back-mirror since he wants to go 150.

Do you have a scan from this page from 64er-magazine 9/1984? Not at hand, and there's really no more info there than already mentioned here. As I am Dutch I can confirm you are right. :) What other options can you choose from? You can try yourself. Just load my ROM-dump into VICE and type SYS44288.

Ok, now it's getting interesting. As mentioned I have the MemoryMaker 64K as well. I just did the same and switched DIP 1 to off and then dumped $a800-$afff to a file: http://www.tokra.de/vic/memmaker64k.prg As Mike suggested I can type SYS43008 and the use SAVE, LOAD, ... with devices 200 to 207 - ...

Been playing around with my new NTSC-VIC and noticed something strange. I always use VIC DOOM as a test if the system works, but using Final Expansion3 this would not work. I get to the title screen, choose the level. It goes to the level screen and loads the level, but then either the level screen ...

If S4=OFF, S5=OFF and S6=ON then 0400-0FFF will have the same data as the memory area A400-AFFF. I believe this to be a typo in the original manual since S6 control $2000-$3fff. It probably should read: If S4=OFF, S5=OFF and S1=ON then 0400-0FFF will have the same data as the memory area A400-AFFF....

Well, I recently found the manual for the 32K-version, which shows already that things are rather complicated with the dip switches (off means RAM on for some areas...). Anyway, this could be a starting point. Would love to find the manual for the 64K-version as well http://www.tokra.de/vic/memmaker...

C116 ($49 computer to compete with the Sinclair Spectrum). Always destined to fail though. It was too little too late to tackle the spectrum market. Should have been at least 48K to even stand a chance. Probably true. We'll never know. Commodore screwed it up themselves with the Plus/4 and C16 and ...

I would be more interested in a C116 (with the rubber keys), since this was the original concept of the machine ($49 computer to compete with the Sinclair Spectrum). There is a nice talk of Bil Herd on c128.com explaining this in detail.

No reason to buy an old, used joystick from Ebay. New joysticks for retro-computers are still being made. Luckily they nearly all shared the same connector. You can get one here e.g.:

Uuuuuuuuh! NICE! I've always hoped for an automated converter to be available for the fantastic SID VICIOUS. Too bad this takes up most of the VIC-20 CPU-time. But still nice for splash-screen in Minigrafik maybe (Maxigrafik and FCB take up the CPU as well...).

Can't wait for the final converter!
