In my homestead, the first computers we had came a bit late and so they were Ms-DOS boxes (Tandy 1000, PC clones).... so NO early 8bit computer nostalgia for me. My initial infatuation with older machines is linked to seing and reading about the commodore 64 and trying to find one locally. One day, ...

I believe, although I could be wrong, that the Challengers are basically made of the shelf parts. the only thing that seems half-novel, is the version of basic stored in 4 roms? The Challenger seems interresting for any vic-20 lover, the main similarity being that of the screen resolution and the 6...

Very nicely done! I like the esthetics of your site. You might want to have a darker "grey" for the background, so that it is easier to read the "white on grey" text. I see you have Ohio computers. Challenger's design look like they would make good models for building homebrew 65...

Rounding - eliminating decimals

Is there a function for rounding in basic? such as 3.2 becomes 3 also, is there a way to specify to always round toward the smaller value, such that 3.2 becomes 3 3.5 becomes 3 3.9 becomes 3 I have ideas on how to build my own way for this, but maybe there is already a function that does this? thank...

Inuit Animation demo: The Inukshuk Who Wanted to be a Man

In case some of you have not yet seen this animation from 1984, has been around on youtube for some time now:

Would be nice to get the code for preservation purposes, if it still exists...

Jeff, here is what I use with my current vic setup, the color goes quite well with my war-zone vic (worn, yellow): A Magnavox perfect view from late 1980's-early 1990's's, i've just repaired mine http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAGNAVOX-PERFECT-VIEW-RETRO-1980s-VINTAGE-TELEVISION-WHITE-CUBE-w-REMOTE-CONTROL...

I agree there is something about those "cheap"-looking small plastic TV's that users used to use with the vic from that period. It feels "authentic"... I have a very nice little beige TV in my setup currently, but it is from the 1990's

I figure one can use a standard (plastic cart) in the fourth slot at the back?

say... maybe some of us would be willing to buy the wrongly designed ones for a discount... it could help you reduce your loss...

Right now the custom cart I use is naked (no cases). No cases no cry...

LOL at the "early computer" tag... You should switch it for "awesome computer". No kidding, when I think of "early computer" I think of Bus s100 computers, VIC is too much cutting edge awesomness to be though of as an early computer :P

I could try and simply read the voltage off the various ports with a meter. Will give news if I get down to doing it.
