Re: More wiki questions

I guess I have no objection as long as it's fairly clear to all what the logos represent.

Re: More wiki questions

I like little logos, but is it going to be easy for anyone else to implement? I'm just thinking it should be easy for the novice to put together an article that complies with the look of the rest.

Re: More wiki questions

I like it - and the tan colour of the infobox. The only thing I'm wondering if a field specifying the media type should be in the infobox: i.e. Media: cartridge, cassette, disk I see you've included that information in the article text, but it's a little harder to instantly find there in a long arti...

Re: More wiki questions

I like the infobox option.
I wonder if there can be a template or something like an instruction sheet on the Wiki to make stylistic conformity easier for Wiki authors.

Re: More wiki questions

I agree with your proposal as well. I like things when they are consistently organized like that. As you probably no, though, if you are removing the part number from the title, it should appear somewhere else in the article. Another option would be to organize by game title, with part number follow...

Re: WiModem makes joystick down = fire

Also, as previously noted by myself and another Denial member, if you start up the VIC with a WiModem and Mega-Cart installed, the Mega-Cart behaves as if two fire button presses had occurred. The menu clicks into the first choice "Cartridge Games" then selects "A World at War", ...

Sharp CE-122 printer and cassette interface (for Sharpt & TRS-80 pocket comptuers)

I have a Sharp CE-122 printer and cassette interface available for sale or trade. I believe this also works with the Sharp PC-1211 pocket computer and the Radio Shack TRS-80 PC-1 pocket computer, as they seem to be identical. It has a 9-pin (male) connector. It comes with the following: - brown carr...

Re: WiModem makes joystick down = fire

Here is the reponse I got from Jim Drew regarding this issue: With the VIC-20, 3 of the joystick lines are connected to the USER PORT. 2 of those are connected to the WiModem, so it could be that it interferes with the joystick operation. You would probably have to remove it from the VIC-20 while us...

Re: Cartridge and box variants - help needed

I have the following English/French Canadian cartridge boxes: Clowns Supersmash Pinball Spectacular Draw Poker Personal Finance and Visible Solar System - NOTE: These are a "flip-able" instruction books / box covers. Half the book is French, half English. So depending on which way the book...

WiModem makes joystick down = fire

Hi, I have one of Jim Drew's Wimodem's plugged into my VIC-20's user port. It works great, and I usually leave it installed all the time. However, today (after over a year of having the WiModem), I noticed that when playing a joystick game (any game) when I press DOWN on the joystick, sometimes the ...

Re: Canadian Vic-20 Question

Yes, likely a late VIC-20 made when the C64 was being produced. Commodore just used C64 keyboards (with the grey function keys) inside new VIC-20s very late in the production life of the VIC. I can also confirm that there was nothing too different about the Canadian-made VIC-20s, other than the bili...

Re: WANTED: Any VIC commodore computer educator cassette books

How far off are you from archiving the complete set? Are you still missing any books?

I'm just asking because I might consider taking this on. However, I only have access to an 8.5" x 11" flatbed scanner, would that suffice?

Hi-res PET hardware = VIC-20 development system?

Hi, I found this video online about this piece of hardware for the PET: The HAL PCG-6500 is a programmable character set generator and sound device for PET/CBM computers, developed by HAL Laboratory in Japan. It was distributed in the USA by Systems Formulate Corporation of Palo Alto, California. Th...
