Re: breadbin shape

VIC 1001 (breadbin case) = 1980 CBM-II = 1982 The CBM-II case was "recyled" on the new PETs in 1984, that's why the 8032SK has an awful motherboard layout in the CBM-II case. The motherboard was redesigned to better fit the case with the 8296 and 8296D models. So if you want to find a rela...

Re: VIC 20 book on Kickstarter

Thank you all for your appreciation! I know that the title can be misleading, and someone can think that it's mostly a picture book. That was maybe my initial idea, but it ended to be a much more complete work about the VIC. I stared at the "publish" button on Kickstarter for half an hour ...

Re: Microgramma keyboard VIC on Ebay

I check online auctions about the VIC almost daily, and I can say that the Eurostile keyboard can be equally found in both PAL and NTSC versions. Always seen with CR boards. Please note that it's " Eurostile ", not "Eurostyle". It's the name of the font used on the keycaps, desig...

Re: Dumps of all the programs in the last Commodore 6 Pack (VT 109)

Oh, yes, I see that the booklet says Computer Educator. But page 1 shows " C ommodore E ducator (Math) S eries"... eh eh :-) The CES series is about a lot more than just Maths. See this thread: http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2019 There are albums a...

Re: Dumps of all the programs in the last Commodore 6 Pack (VT 109)

Looks like I was vaguely mistaken, I had Big Bad Wolf and Treasures of the Bat Cave in GB20, as they were Bruce Robinson games (through Victory Software). Don't have Crawler I believe. I searched for them all in GB20 and TOSEC... I still don't find Treasures of the Bat Cave. Does it have a differen...

Re: Dumps of all the programs in the last Commodore 6 Pack (VT 109)

... the "C" in "CES" probably stands for "Canada". Nope, it means "Computer Educator System". Oh, yes, I see that the booklet says Computer Educator. But page 1 shows " C ommodore E ducator (Math) S eries"... eh eh :-) Since these were published in ...

On my VICE (I'm on OS X so no nightly / recent builds) Big Bad Wolf loads but hangs after the first few lines of text.

Re: Dumps of all the programs in the last Commodore 6 Pack (VT 109)

VT-107 is called the "Home Calculation Program Pack" and is larger with both cassettes and detailed instructions in English only. It contains 6 cassettes but there really are 12 different softwares; one on each side of a cassette. Could I have some software you don't have ? VT-108, well I...

Re: Dumps of all the programs in the last Commodore 6 Pack (VT 109)

Kewl! I have VT-106 and VT-107 but I didn't even know there was a VT-109. The first computer educator album is called VT-108 Math Book I and then CES-109 Math Book II so I assumed there wasn't even a VT-109 The albums I have published so far are here: http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/vic20/co...

Re: Dumps of all the programs in the last Commodore 6 Pack (VT 109)

I use the VICE emulator for the screenshots Just noticing this, the screenshots VICE produces if you use the "Snapshot - Start/stop media file"-function have a completely wrong aspect-ratio. Hopefully you are taking this into account before using the screenshots in your book. The screensh...

Dumps of all the programs in the last Commodore 6 Pack (VT 109)

Since I finished the cartridge section of my VIC 20 book, I started to scan and restore the covers of all the 4 "Six Pack" tape compilations sold by Commodore. I use the VICE emulator for the screenshots, but when I got to the last 6 pack I realized that there are no known dumps of the 6 p...

Board assembly number 1001006 with revised heatsink

Hi all, I am looking for someone who can lend me a motherboard with assembly number 1001006 rev. E, but with the revised heatsink. I live in Italy, so let's say Europe is OK - I will cover shipping costs back and forth. Early 1001006 boards had a heatsink that acted as a guide for the cartridge port...

CR board Assembly number 251037

Hi all, I'm trying to compare the two cr boards, assembly numbers 251037 and 250403 . On the 250403 the traces seem a bit more "hand drawn", slightly more precise than the traces on the 251037. All the components are identical at first sight. On the back, my 251037 has two wires (a short o...

Unfortunately I don't have access to those, otherwise I would. What I am consider is, once I've gotten all the information from the online database into hard copy here 100%, IS to make another document as such to publish in solid form. Then maybe it can hit the Google search terms heh. Not having a...

Re: Visible Solar System

I would suggest referencing the online guide at Digital Press for the Vic20 I think that no one lands to the up to date, database-driven version of the guide. People just search "VIC 20 rarity" on Google and click the first or second link: to me, the first result is the old 1998 version o...
