You got that right. I finally got them today.
The 2200s ended up being a Taiwanese brand (SC) although not the worst, not what I ordered and paid for. It was a ripoff price for third tier caps.
At least the 4700s were correct.
Never again Radio Shack!

Re: Capacitor sale
If anyone ordered these, I'd like to apologize for recommending ordering from Radio Shack. I didn't check resellerratings.com before I posted this. It's been 11 days since I ordered and they still haven't shipped. They are living up to their 1 star rating. PLEASE DON'T BOTHER WITH RADIO SHACK! They ...

Re: HASL for cartridges? (split/OT from: Cheese & Onion)
BTW, I noted the plating on the VIC-20cr connector is pure tin. That's not the same at all as HASL which is an alloy of different metals to make it's fusion point lower and make it softer. My point remains; using HASL for the edge connector of a cartridge you sell and know will be used often is irr...

Here is a copy of the magazine with the C64 version I made. It could easily be adapted to the VIC-20 if one wanted to.

Re: Speech synthesiser cartridge
I like it. Didn't know it existed. I made one of those with the same chip back in the day for the C64 from a design that was in Radio Electronics - Computer Digest (August 1986). Didn't have a ROM though. You had to code to make it speak. It's a cool chip and I had a lot of fun with it. Those chips ...

I bet there are a lot of mix and match VICs out there by now. I know I have a few. Heck some of them were that way from the factory it seems!

To steal a phrase from modern times, this is looking like the killer app for the VIC 20! Looking forward to this game!

Re: Best display for Vic20?
It's hit or miss with the LCD TVs and the VIC. I have a 20 inch LCD TV that looks great (even on the CR) http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bul ... 789#p98021, then I have a 26 inch and a 46 inch that look terrible.

Re: 1541 Read error
Got a better picture IMO, you are going about it the hard way. I have aligned all my drives in a similar manner to the video I posted above with a factory disk and they all are aligned fine afterwards. The way to do a definitive test after the procedure is to use a fastload cart and look for any er...
