Maybe it is that your definition of "constructive" that's flawed.CurtisP wrote:I don't mind constructive criticism

On the other hand you'd use less cpu time drawing graphics. Probably would involve quite an overhaul for both graphics and display code however.Kakemoms wrote:Still, you'll have a hard time squeezing the 384 pixels per line into 176 pixels..

Re: Thrift store jerk
The stores themselves are already using ebay as an indicator on price anyway. When I sold some games just recently that was how they made an offer.
Re: Athanor
Jeez, and i know this is not your fault, but the geography of this game is screwy. The are several locations where you leave in one direction, say north, but the way to go back is going is anything but south.

Koalamin 20
Here is a project, which is a spin-off of a C64 project I've been working on for a while, that allows you to control the sounds of the VIC-20 with the Koalapad. For unexpanded machines. https://sites.google.com/site/malcontentsgames/_/rsrc/1466451426613/koalamin/koala20pic.png http://sites.google.co...

I'm curious if this would work too.GreyGhost wrote:This idea could even be used with the cassette buffer on unexpanded machines.

Re: Comprehensive KERNAL documentation
Check out Compute's Vic-20/C64 Toolkit: Kernal
It's follows the ML step by step, basically it would be the comments to the dissassembly, but the ROM couldn't be published for copyright reasons.
The Basic version of that book helped immensely with me understanding the floating point routines.

Re: How do I ship microchips?
Press chips into static-resistant foam, and place in a static-free bag. Fill package with shredded paper instead of styrofoam/polystyrene. Mark as "fragile/glass".

This is great. For some reason I really like listening to classical music tracks on c64 There's a lot of good SIDs, but I've not heard much from the vic. Is it A415?

Re: Out of memory on this line
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you're scanning for blocked moves directly after a move to predict the one that will occur later? Far better to just try to move in the direction, figure out you're blocked, and then look for an open direction. Pick a random direction once, and if it's als...

Re: Assembly Programming with CBM Prg Studio
The only two references I use are Compute's Programming the VIC, and Mapping the VIC. The first book is very detailed about ML, but it's not really a teaching book. But if you are already a programmer of some flavor, it is very concise and well written, and has enough to get you going. It won't real...

Springfield Falcons! Never thought I'd see them in a video game! AHL Hockey is definitely the one I'm copying to tape.
