Re: *ALL PHYSICAL COPIES ARE SOLD OUT*: REALMS OF QUEST V (Digital version is available)
I just sent version 1.20 of the game to the publisher. Double Sided Games should send the updates to those who bought the previous versions. realms5.jpg Revision 1.20 changes: -Added images to death slideshow sequence -Added 2 images for the "Dark Times" sequence -Added digitized map to &q...

Re: New Release: (vic 20 board game)
I tried it, when I choose "Take 3 free spaces" it advances the player piece all the way to the end?

Re: Realms of Quest Quadrilogy (I thru IV) to be published by Psytronik
Very attractive package, as usual for Psytronik. Admiring the graphics in RoQ3, I wonder if the guy was ever rescued, or if the mystery concerning his disappearing was solved anyhow. I don't think it was every found out what happened to Shane Fell, as far as I know. The packaging will mention a ded...

Re: Realms of Quest V FAQ/hints/walkthrough?
I've changed "+1" to the Unicode Symbol for "join" -- ⨝. Meaning that an ally/companion/monster has joined the player in question. I did this to avoid confusion with the plus signs (+ and ++) that are used to indicate when players gain enough experience for level advancement. rea...

Re: Realms of Quest V FAQ/hints/walkthrough?
Sorry to have to make you implement that that way. I understand the tight constraints. I think an "ally" icon might been more useful than some of the other icons present. Like the alignment icon. I don't think the player really needs to be constantly notified of the each character's align...

Re: Realms of Quest V FAQ/hints/walkthrough?
realms5.jpg So I implemented a feature where a plus sign (+) appears next to the Ally command if said player happens to have an ally. Hopefully it serves as a reminder that the player can use it. However, I had to use all of the remaining free memory allocated for the combat module to implement thi...

Re: Realms of Quest V FAQ/hints/walkthrough?
Great to hear this has been implemented. I probably will continue with the original version, though, as I am far invested into the game, and am playing from floppies, so would not want to lose my spot. I'm curious--how do you find the experience of playing the game on floppy disk overall? Are you u...

Re: Realms of Quest V FAQ/hints/walkthrough?
That was simple enough to do--it only took me about an hour to implement. This feature will be available in version 1.2. I describe this feature as follows on page 23 of the manual now: "You can also alternate back and forth between “movement mode” and the menu by pressing the SPACE bar, RUN/ST...

Re: Realms of Quest V FAQ/hints/walkthrough?
I find I have to switch a lot between movement mode and the menu mode (i.e. to cast, inspect characters, etc.). Although, it's pretty easy to switch from movement mode to menu mode using the ESC key or SPACE keys, I haven't found an easy single keystroke that will allow me to switch back to movemen...

Re: Realms of Quest V FAQ/hints/walkthrough?
Should the dungeons be done in any particular order? You need not say which order specifically, to avoid major spoilers, but are some dungeons easier than others? Well, the random encounters will "scale" according to the level of your party and the floor of the dungeon that you are in. Ev...

Re: *ALL PHYSICAL COPIES ARE SOLD OUT*: REALMS OF QUEST V (Digital version is available)
Interesting... I prefer some features of the original, mainly the eyes. While they are less defined, they are more natural looking. Thank you for your feedback. I just felt that with touching up the other portraits and images to give them more distinct contrasts instead of having the faint dithered...

Re: *ALL PHYSICAL COPIES ARE SOLD OUT*: REALMS OF QUEST V (Digital version is available)
I continue to improve and refine the game. While I was very proud of the work I did with the male vurdulak portrait three years ago, I decided to retouch and improve it. First one image is the original, and the second is the new one.

Re: Realms of Quest V FAQ/hints/walkthrough?
Does the tablet chart on page 34 of manual line up positionally with what you see in the in-game Search display? i.e. If I only possess a single shard and that piece came from Bighy Woods (which is the upper left square in the manual) would the in-game Search display only illuminate the upper left ...
