Thanks for this!
Just had a go. Very slick, reminds me of the game-boy version.

Re: VIC20 games collections and multi-part .PRG questions...
1. I guess some of the .prgs that have been cracked into a single load to make it easy to copy them. So it's useful to have both in case you care to see the original loading experience (loading screen graphics/music etc). Also some games came on both tape and disk (but not many for the Vic) so you w...

Re: New Release: Demons of Dex
2. Making games for these obsolete platforms is not really worth it. The amount of positive vs. negative feedback is so wildly unbalanced that the many, many hours I spent working on the project were a waste of my time and energy. I think you really need to be making them for yourself and for fun. ...

Re: New Release: Demons of Dex
i never said it is but you introduced 'cracks' to advance your argument i.e. that phVic should feel "honoured" that they mentioned his name in their rip-off. If someone steals your car for a joy-ride but returns it undamaged, do you feel 'honoured' that they didn't crash it? same p...

Re: New Release: Demons of Dex
I'm inclined to agree with phvic. Permission should have been obtained BEFORE any work commenced. If you look at the CSDB database entry: http://csdb.dk/release/index.php?id=150286 At the time of writing the original authors name is not to be found anywhere on the page. It wouldn't be so bad if they...

Jelly Monsters on Ebay (UK)
These don't come up very often. I bagged one a few weeks ago at double the listed price. The box is a bit tatty but I guess you could swap it over with a more common cart. The instruction booklet is OK. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Commodore-Vic-20-Jelly-Monsters-Cartridge-Boxed-Instructions-TESTED-/27...

If you write out the TAP file(s) back to a new tape, does it still work on the real thing?

Re: What kind of display did you use in the early days?
I bought a colour TV for £40 (all I could afford) but it was terrible, it buzzed like mad and had horrible colour bleed.
