The first program loads over the vectors including the IRQ which will now point to a new loader (I'm away from home so I'm not 100% sure of the location) probably at 820. This is really disappointing news about TAP files, as I was my favorite way to store my games. I forgot there are a couple of things that set the screen for NTSC. For VICE emulators it's not a big deal, but I suppose a pain to have to change settings. The levels... I simply ran out of room. As it is...

I downloaded and tried the zipped TAP on Xvic (VICE 2.4) and had no problems. It should load from 4097 to 7873. Comparing the screen I get, and your screenshot, I see the program is loading 3 bytes higher than it should. Not sure why.

Yeah. I had to use the cassette buffer and a few other places for memory, so the overwrite on the screen is normal. But looking at the characters on the screen something isn't loading right. I'll check the zipped TAP.

I apologize, I have been a shadow for a while. I basically do this when I'm not too busy with other things. The pattern seems to be every other winter, but now that I've said that it will change. Hope to be back with more this winter.

As always that's for the hard work. I must say it was a bit of a shock, the new look, and as Pitcalco noted many here may be a bit resistant to change, including myself. I think I will get used to it, but it will feel more like home when there are some of our Vic and C= logos and icons!

As with all the text adventures you have been sent to a system around a star. I thought that would leave the text adventures open to anything, from castles to jungles to pyramids to lifeless rocks. I used AudioTap to convert, Wavelab for any adjusting, and just recorded on my tape deck. So perhaps there is a degrading of the sound. Here is a video link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PahhRvIVdVM
