Use VICE 3.6.1 monitor to check a memory location

Sometime it's useful to use the VICE monitor to set checkpoint and debug the code on the fly, normally by using his manual, it's easy to understand how to use it but this time, I'm not able to find the right command for the VICE monitor. What I wish is that when a specific location has a specific va...

Re: FE3 Software Collection

Will the new one work with long filenames? I always struggle to work out which game is which when I see a list of files called things like: galaxi~1.prg galaxi~2.prg galaxi~3.prg galaxi~4.prg gab4f6~1.prg 16 chars lenght is a IEC limit and the tilde sign is a way for sd2iec firmware (similar to DOS...

Do you have both a Mega-Cart and a uIEC/SD2IEC drive?

Good! I'm releasing a new ADDON for any Mega-Cart revision that by using an external SD drive allows to play all new, next coming rev.22 items. There are many kind of Vic-20 setups and a lot of sd2iec firmware based devices, I've tested many combinations but If you have one that I've not tested, it ...

Re: FE3 Software Collection

New release is out. It now includes FileBrowser to make it easier to browse files on SD card. There is directory pi1541 which contains a few demos that are not compatible with sd2iec but work with Pi1541 emulator. My filebrowser nowdays is everywhere... I've tested it about 10 years ago but it was ...

Yes anyway even if it is not cheap, if you really wish, you may buy it on ebay and dump it for the community like I've done some time ago with the cartridge of K-Star Patrol.

Thanks Steve, it was a nice side effect of the work I've done to integrate your fantastic port of Doom on the next Mega-Cart firmware revision 22.

Re: Starbase Defender by Eclipse Software ltd 1984

Found a game called Startbase (C) 1984 by Gnomix on Gamebase20 v3, I don't know if it's a clone.

I've also found an auction on ebay of the specific game you are searching.

I don't know if Mayhem has it in its collections.

Re: Diagnostic Tools for the Vic-20

Now I'm thinking about a test set composed by the classic test-cables and a new diagnostic card. This new diagnostic board integrates 3 tools: 1) old DEAD TEST program to test quickly without opening the VIC20 case 2) old DIAGNOSTIC program to test the VIC20 thoroughly (test-cables are required) 3)...

Re: See SCCAN at City of STEM festival, April 2

The SX-64 died after 3 hours of running, the Amiga 1200 died after 6 1/2 hours, and the Ultimate 64 lasted the entire event. At the end, I had to tell the line of parents and children, "Sorry... sorry." Note to self -- always bring back-up computers to a public event! oh my god, it was a ...

I also suggest to use my CBM-FileBrowser to surf SD directories/D64/D71/D81 file image and easily load programs from your CBM machine (Vic-20/C64/C16-Plus4/C128)

Re: Tutankham - Copy protection or poor programming?

I'm converting these to run as single file PRGs for Retroarch where I can leave the Vice config at full mem expansion without messing around with options and it autostarts the game (although there may be a setting for this in the config? Maybe better ways to pre-set Retroarch Vice configs?). I'm tr...

Re: Tutankham - Copy protection or poor programming?

We cannot consider it a copy protection simply because if you use 8k RAM expansion on BLK5 only, the game works without modifies. In effect this "issue" is not unusual for BLK5 rom images, I've noticed it by working on the "cheated" version of a lot of cartridge games for the nex...
