Re: Introduce Yourself: What's your User Name based on?
Maybe he has two C64 PSUs. I recall reading that some late VICs were shipped with C64 PSUs as they standardised on a single model for cost reduction? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk Well here they are. As you can see it is the same PSU for both machines: Vic20: http://z81i.imgup.net/VIC20-PSU06...

Re: Introduce Yourself: What's your User Name based on?
my old C64. I found that it wasn't working [...] (but the Vic-20 PSU powerd it up!). The C64 requires more current than the VIC-20 and this will overload your VIC-20 PSU. When the 5V regulator then overheats, it will short, giving you a defective PSU with overvoltage on the 5V line, a defective C64...

Re: Introduce Yourself: What's your User Name based on?
Kakemoms is something of a joke. I started to play Runescape many years ago and instead of registering as "Deadlydragonmotherkiller" as the rest I just became "Kakemoms". It means Cake-munching in Norwegian. Why am I here? Well, my first was a Vic-20 and I bought a used one earli...

Re: Two unknown cartridges
Ok. Well, the only thing I can see is that three address pins are connected to the TI 7240A, e.g. CA13, CA12 and CA11. So its apparent that there is some simple logic in the 7240A which decides which memory chip that will respond to the memory access from the Vic-20. E.g. $1FFF are 13 bits (8K byte)...

Re: Two unknown cartridges
Ah you are absolutely right. I confused the 24-pin 7240A as a newer 7240SEL.
In that respect one can put the memory at BLK 1 by setting switch 4, BLK 2 by setting switch 3.. and so on.
A picture of the backside would be interesting.

Re: Two unknown cartridges
The upper photo is obviously of a VIC-1110 8k expansion which was customized by the addition of a ROM chip and switch to toggel it. The lower board also hard 4 chips of 2k x 8 SRAM so I suspect it too is an 8k expansion but there is a fifth chip on the top and I wouldn't know what that is. The fift...

Wanted: VIC-1011a original RS232 interface
I know I can get a clone, but I want the original. It must be working.
Will pay more if you also have the original box.

Re: Commodore LCD screen
I splurged on a Princess by Manosoft, and I'm very pleased. The convenience of the design has inspired me to consider an LCD screen. Something that could fit onto Commodores in the same way the PSone and Gamecube and others had small, "flip up" LCD screens. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wi...
