I have a disk called "Compute!'s Vic 20 collection" (1985) from Compute! Publications, containing many of their most popular games. You could type them in yourself (from their many books) or save some time and buy their disk...if memory serves me correctly. It may have been available on ca...

Of the 3 Jupiter Lander cartridges, I have 2 that are "Made in Japan", and one "Made in Hong Kong" (Rev.B board). From the outside, the 2 Japan ones are identical. When I opened the 2 "Japan" ones up, I found that one has a black board and one does not. Interestly...the...

Weird Copy Of Jupiter Lander - Early Version?

I have 3 copies of Jupiter Lander on cartridge, all say Vic-1907 on the front, but 1 is slightly different (opening screen and colors) in the game than the others. On the opening screen of my weird copy, it says something like "Vic Super Lander" above the score table, where the other copie...

Re: Do you load games from tape anymore?

When was the last time you loaded a game from tape? Do we still do this? I think I've been spoiled by disk drives and emulation. Would you still be patient enough to load Blue Meanies from a tape and play it these days? I see a lot of tape collectors, but I really wonder if they play from those gam...

The Protecto cartridge arrived today. I tested it for just 20 minutes, and then I realized that... I just don't have any idea about how it works. Facts: - The cart seems to be in good condition. It has an handwritten note on the label: poke 38912,3. - I connected it to the audio input of my T...

Anybody Know This Game?

My sister swears she played a Vic-20 game where you either shoot a snake or a dragon (she can't remember) in the head. There may be multiple snakes/dragons too. She says you can shoot it in the tail too, but it doesn't do much. She thinks you may have a bow and arrow or gun, she's just going by memo...

I was an arcade junkie, so of course, I wanted a Colecovision for my 15th birthday. imo, they had the best selection of home-based arcade titles. Never did get one though until several years later! My parents finally bought a Vic, because it was deemed by them to be "more educational". It ...

Syntax Software...More Canadian Cassette Games

I have 2 games on cassette by a company called Syntax Software, which was based in Willowdale, Ontario. The titles are Tank War and Cyclons, both seem to be similar to the cartridge games with similar names. Or at least Syntax Software's version, and with the very slight spelling differences. I am c...
