@PaulQ and @rhurst : I also hope that others always remember that everyone here in Denial can contribute to the community. :) The simple expenses of money, time, and space it takes to acquire, maintain, and occasionally use a working Vic 20 computer in 2012 represents a contribution that most peopl...

I asked Robert, this is his reply: In England, the two Amiga clubs I visited have some Commodore stuff. Those would be the Amiga North Thames and the Lincolnshire Amiga Group. However, more likely would be the HCC Commodore in the Netherlands. Their bi-monthly show has a sales table full of 8-bit st...

Hey, Mike. I saw your post too. Excellent work. I have two Vic 20's, one has a bad video chip. I considered duplicating your efforts, but then I felt as Boray did. I like to program the Vic because its inherent limitations acts as a creative lens. Don't be dissuaded by this opinion; take it as this ...

The original ribbon on the MPS 802 was a single strike carbon type, so the idea was to use it once, and then toss it away. The cartridge design is almost identical to that of the nylon printer ribbon that's used in the Epson LX-810. There's no reservoir; there's just a LOT of ribbon packed into the ...

Ah, yes...they would be NTSC...sorry, oversight on my part. I should have checked your location first before replying. Perhaps there's a similar European user group? I bet Robert Bernardo would know, I'd ask him. Boray, while I agree that working Vic 20's in good condition should retain a certain am...

I am amazed at what some Vic 20's have sold for. Even with stuff wrong with them, they seem to be too much. The best place I've dealt with is TPUG. I've bought some hardware from them with no regrets. $30 Canadian for a system with a tape drive and software, you can't go wrong. You might need to cut...

Nice find; it does give some hope for the future of our retro endeavours. Meanwhile, I picked up a can of this to keep everything running smoothly: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41tQJoBROML._SL500_AA300_.jpg I also discovered that tigerdirect.ca has my printer ribbon of choice for a mere $6....
