Re: Fun with CBM arithmetics

Regards your question of a feasible file format: you'd most probably be content with a *.prg file that executes the patch by copying the original ROM contents, doing a check whether it works on the original byte values it aims to replace, and putting the replacement bytes there. Much similar to how ...

Be ready to have nuclear fusion explained in detail by Mike  Awww! Don't spoil the fun for me! ;) In any case, I pointed pixel to the home page of my employer already some time ago. :) As long as I can make him hate me, too. ;) Unlikely. Re: Which memory expansions with more than +37K are you using?

Yet another memory expansion poll? Main issue: an application program is not supposed to do any accesses into I/O 2/3, for whatever reason. You have no way to ensure, whether there is RAM, ROM, or read/write sensitive I/O which can do anything else than store data. It could perform a reset, ch...

A tool to import save files from Commodore Artist has been released over there in the "Collecting and History" section, in the thread "Commodore Artist Save Files".

Re: Commodore Artist Save Files

Whether they have been stored 10 years or 35 years shouldn't make any difference, as long as that was done in a room with moderate climate, i.e. not too big temperature changes, not too dry, not too wet. Preferably in a cardboard box (not plastic), so there's at least some air exchange possible. ......

Re: Counting "trick"/memory copy

I found a nice collection of memory move routines on 6502.org: Practical Memory Move Routines . Here are some reasonably fast general-purpose routines for moving blocks of memory. You simply specify the address to move from, the address to move to, and the size of the block. [...] These routines are...

Re: MINIGRAFIK lineart

Nice one!

Though, it can be written slightly more compact like thus:

Code: Select all

1 DIMD(4):D(1)=1:D(3)=-1:X=80:Y=96:@ON:@CLR
2 C=@(X,Y):D=(D+2*C-1)AND3:@1-C,X,Y:X=X+D(D):Y=Y+D(D+1):GOTO2

Cheers,

Michael

Re: Commodore Artist Save Files

Welcome back to Denial, Bill! :) I have VICE and Commodore Artist, so I was thinking that perhaps I could record the drawing save files as a .WAV then convert them to a .TAP and attempt to load them into CA. I'm not sure if that would work though, as the save files aren't "normal" programs...

That sounds like a plan. :)

Good luck! :D

Re: VICE - Write to Cart Image Possible?

My hardware does do something that may not be achievable in VICE though. From the viewpoint of VICE, like it is with the VIC-20 itself, your hardware appears just like any other cartridge. It just needs a fixed design, a thorough documentation, and an heightened interest of one of the VICE maintain...

Re: VICE - Write to Cart Image Possible?

I don't want to change anything in my code to use VICE I suppose it will take some time until *you* will get to write programs that genuinely show different behaviour on VICE compared to real hardware. Over the years, VICE has got very accurate in its emulation. In most cases, where people complain...

Re: VICE - Write to Cart Image Possible?

Try:

Code: Select all

.org  $9FFE
.word $A000

Greetings,

Michael

P.S. the repeated .org directives in your sample code above are completely redundant
