Well, there are 2 issues with the versions of Darkstar that I have. 1. Darkstar 3.1 is now completely cracked. See here . The problem is that the only modem driver I have which is for the 1670 rev 2 doesn't behave with tcpser or bbs server properly. I also don't have the original documentation anymo...

I remember when I first discovered I could jack my Volks 6420 up to 450 baud. It was a joyous occasion indeed. It even made the Darkstar flashing cursor press return prompt cooler.

I have a strange feeling that I've got to play in a Santa Clause parade that day (Nov. 10), but I'll be along as soon as that's finished. The last one was too fun not to participate again!

Wasn't there newsgroups comp.sys.*.advocacy specifically for putting other systems down?

Sure! In my somewhat limited VIC experience, I don't ever remember playing a 2 player cooperative style game like this. It'd be fun!

Oddly, Road Toad was one of the very first games I played on my VIC. I thought it was a really good Frogger version back then. I should re-play it to see whether it has held up.
