Re: New Release: Exit Plan Z 2

My focus on games from here is in action/adventure rpgs as I feel there is not enough for the Vic. My next game will be based loosely off of adventure for the 2600. It was one of my favorite games as a kid. I would also love more VIC game in the style of 2600 Adventure (a proper port would also be ...

Re: Vic-20 version of Stix?

Squeeze is sort of a minimalist version of Qix but it plays very differently and you will fail miserably if you approach it as a Qix game. I think Qix is a great game but I actually prefer Squeeze. I discovered it a year ago when it was one of the Qix inspired games of the first monthly VIC game clu...

Re: WIP: Pyrotech

I have finally tried your game and I found it pretty enjoyable. The controls can be frustrating as it is very easy to move a few steps more than intended, but it can also be viewed as part of the challenge and walls can be used to “bounce” around the screen instead of careful and tedious tap-for-tap...

Superb. Another new VIC-game that makes you wonder how it could have changed things if it was released back in the days.

Re: WIP: Manic Miner port

The death animation of the Kong screen was one of those anything-can-happen-in-this-game moments (which Perils Of Willy was sadly missing).

Re: WIP: Manic Miner port

I had played a pirated copy of Manic Miner extensively on my dad's C64 before I bought Perils of Willy for my VIC, so I was well aware that the VIC-version was inferior but I still treasured it and - to this day - I think it is a very impressive VIC-game. My main issues are the repetitive (and less ...

Re: New physical cartridge release: Cheese And Onion

But seriously, Vicious Vic fits well with the already decided names: Naughty Nic, Dirty Tim, and Desperate Dave, and could be the equivalent of Sue in Ms. Pac-Man. But she is perhaps best left for a Vic version of Chip’s Challenge (great puzzle maze game for Lynx and, among others, C64). As Vic Vici...

Re: New physical cartridge release: Cheese And Onion

Misfit is working on another game, but very unlikely to be that one. According to Twitter, he is working on something currently with a working title of "RodMän". If you want to influence it, he is asking for name suggestions for one of the characters: Hey Misfit, your new game and the req...

Re: New physical cartridge release: Cheese And Onion

Apparently RodMän is a mix between BomberMan + Pacman + Boulder Dash. Cheese and Onion is so good. I can't wait for RodMän. I'm a big RockMan fan (see my avatar image), so expecting big things for RodMän. Sounds like a very potent and attractive mix indeed! BTW I remember an early VIC-game called M...

Re: In the making: Arukanoido – an Arkanoid clone

Disregarding the choppy youtube framerate, it looks and sounds amazing. I love how the MC and hi-res graphics blend perfectly in style. Too often they clash pretty badly (i.e. style-wise, not by char sharing) both on VIC and C64.

Very cool. Vertically oriented monitor requirement can be seen as a feature rather than a bug.

I could not get the mouse for paddles to work. Too bad, because Pinball Spectacular seems really neat. Certainly like the next best thing to Pixel's upcoming Arukanoido :)

Re: Work in progress: REALMS OF QUEST V

Tantalizing map. While I am not much of a RPG-player, I am strongly attracted to RPG-game worlds and maps (since I read The Hobbit as a kid I guess). Some day I really, really woud like to make a retro-CRPG of my own.
