Making of Myriad
Nice two-page article in the latest issue of Retro Gamer #162 Myriad was one of the few UK games I did not play back in the days, but I remember reading suprelatives in Swedish mail order brochures. The author Steve Clark actually had several coin-ops in his student house (he got them from pubs for ...

Re: VIC-20 Isometric game prototype?
So pretty and quick
Good thing VIC gets an isometric game as even ZX81 has one by now

I am sure Misfit knew about this but I didn't!

I have let him know but he was already aware of your game and plan to update the article when he has the timeVic Porter wrote: Btw, now that it's not WIP... someone pointing out this port to that FRGCB blog would be appreciated
Re: Hat Trick
Thank you again for the game. I have not had the time to play it that much but I can for sure say that it is much more playable with the black helmet fix. I did fiddle with the graphics but only for a very short time. I was mostly interested in the possibility to make it in multi-color but since it ...

Re: Halloween Game Release: It Came From the Grave
Addictive and stylish as always The multicolor player character is a nice touch and makes it stand out in subtle way. I made it to the end rather quickly (the knowledge of 'only' ten levels motivated me).

Re: WIP - Hat Trick
Wow! Vic-20 was not exactly spoiled by a lot of arcadey sport games back in the days. There were basically none! I never played C64 Hat Trick and I did not know of the 1984 arcade original, but now I am tempted to check them out as this plays very well. I definitely think the players should be solid...

Re: VIC-20 Isometric game prototype?
Very nice! I love how each coder has it's own sort-of "style" for the newer VIC-20 games. While you use HiRes-graphics most of the time reminiscent of ZX Spectrum games, beamrider mostly uses Multicolor (Pooyan, Popeye), which due to its chunky pixels looks more like Atari 2600. Then you ...

Re: VIC-20 Isometric game prototype?
Too cool... If Vic hadn't been killed off by C64, we would, no doubt, have seen many of these for Vic. Not all isometric-styled games are very playable. Crawlingly slow isometric games that nevertheless try to incorporate arcade actions fail miserably in the fun department... but they are still 'coo...
Re: Athanor
Really great to see a VIC-adventure with early (and good!) C64-style adventure illustrations! I will try it eventually, but I have a few other adventure games on my to-do-list. First of all I have to finish Adventureland (I began playing it last year and I think I came pretty close to complete it th...

Elegant and very nice. I loved being surprised by a new mini game when you thought you had discovered them all since long. Now I have to try the original

Re: (not so new) Release: Improbable War
Nice idea and very attractive graphics. It can perhaps be improved by showing the enemy marker type before the final movement into battle and destruction.
I wonder if it is possible to modify it to be more skill based (less luck based) without having to implement much more AI.

Re: Scramble on the Atari VCS2600
yes, I saw that. I'm thinking the pulse code base could come in handy here  as the Vic-20 doesn't have a decent version of Scramble. My thoughts exactly. A 16K Pulse would make a very nice Scramble (or even a full blown Nemesis/Gradius). There is also a very nice TI Scramble from 2013. My fav...

Re: Popeye - **Initial Release**
Well done! I'm improving the vertical hit testing accuracy as tokras above post for the next release, which will probably make it a bit easier and allow refuge on the third step :D , so you will have the accoldade of being the only one to complete the tough version 0.31 without Snapshots!! Thanks! ...
