I think you may have a VIC-20CR, the newer one with a 3 or 5-pin DIN connector providing both 9VAC~ and 5VDC=. It draws equal power as the contemporary C64 does, so it is not an issue here. We're speaking the first generation VIC-20 with its two-prong connector, which only gets 9VAC~ input. You're ...

Woops... The c64 PSU can only deliver 1A of 9V (right?) so maybe I was right anyway.... it's not enough! ;) /Anders I swap my C-64 PSU between my C-64 and my VIC-20 just fine. I don't think that would be a problem. I think the problem is wether or not you are getting good clean AC to the PSU. I jus...

Psst.. the latest version is WinVICE 1.15 with improved noise emulation. I own two 1541-II:s, of which one doesn't seem to make it past POST, but by switching its PSU (external unlike the original 1541) I get it to work, so something seems to have gone wrong in the power supply. It is also virtuall...

Is it time for the definitive "How to clean the edge connector" list soon? Maybe cross-referenced with a list of how dirty, worn out and type of metal on the edge connector so maybe a gold-plated connector gets one treatment and a nickel plated or other connector can withstand something e...

I am almost 100% certain that Tank vs. Ufo is found on the Canadian Tire tape, which schema (leif) has a link to somewhere on this forum. just to save you the trouble of typing it in again chris the user manual has a very primitive and cool version of the game. I'm typing! I'm typing! Christo...

I just use a little bit of windex on a q-tip, and then rub the contacts, and let the cart. air dry for a bit. Been using this method for all my gaming carts. (atatri 2600, sega, intellivision, etc..) and no worries so far. chris Thanks, Guys! I found a copy of River Raid by Thorn EMI for the VIC-20...

While giving my VIC-20 it's semi-annual checkup, I found a blank cartridge in my bin of Commodore stuff. It's dark brown, like a utility cartridge, but looks like it never had a label on it. I plugged it into the VIC and nothing happened when I turned on the computer. I cleaned the contacts with a p...

I have about a dozen or so books here with loads of ...

Wow!!! they've fixed some major things! If anyone else has found bugs, please post them here and we can then submit them to the VICE team and who knows, we may one day end up with a 100% emulator! :) we're pretty close now I think I've been a VICE user for a long time, and I do think the newest ver...
