Looking for Lee Davison
Hallo allemaal, Lee Davison created some well documented disassemblies of the C64 and VIC-20. I want to use them for an IEEE project and want his permission to use his files as base for mine. But the last time he was active at all on internet was July 2013, on this forum. His site has gone and no re...

What is a VIC-1540 worth?
Hallo allemaal,
I can sell my VIC-1540 but have no idea what to ask. Google and Ebay couldn't help me. Any suggestions, please?

My answer to your original question is no. I have to contradict this. If no illegal codes are used, all 6502 variants should work. When using my hardware debugger, I often replace the original 6502 by a WDC 65SC02 ot be able to see what is going on when the 6502 writes data to the bus. And FYI: you...

My XT adventure
Hallo allemaal, Here in the Netherlands we have a saying: "Change of food makes one eat". So I turned my attention to the PC-XT and its compatibles. From 1985 (!) on I had to idea to "create" my own BIOS. The idea was to create one that wrote data to my debugger card so I could u...

Re: I got assam to load
I use linux I'm afraid that sooner or later you run into the limitations of the size of the screen and the memory of the VIC-20. So you could already start to think of a cross assembler. If interested, I wrote my own (dis)assembler in Turbo Pascal, which can be compiled by Free Pascal http://freepa...

Re: Photos from the Dec. 18 Netherlands Commodore Show
And here are the photos from the Dec. 18 Netherlands Commodore Show, which was held in Maarssen. Wow, that place really looks empty. The December meeting normally is one of our best visited meetings. But it seems that a lot of people, including me, didn't take the risc to travel through the snow. I...

Re: question on cartridge port expansion boards
Is that typical behavior for these cartridge port expanders with switches? Are they not truly on/off as would be assumed by their design? Yep. I have no experience with expanders for the VIC-20 but a lot with those for the C64. Cartridges can act on various signals. And some don't even need the one...

Re: allright guys,
I took it apart, cleaned the head, eliminated all the dust inside and cleaned and lubed the rails. Waited overnight, still won't find a directory, and knocks like a machine gun! If the head only is misalligned, it still should be able to format disks and then to be able to write and read them. If t...

The VIC-20 at 10 MHz.
Hallo allemaal,
I'm not sure if this is already has been published on this forum. If not, enjoy:

I cannot see any reason why this module cannot be used in a VIC-20.
