Re: More than 32K??

cbmeeks wrote:So, is there really a demand for more than 32-35K of RAM in a VIC-20? I get the idea that it's cool. But who/what uses it?

I'm not talking about what *COULD* be done...I'm curious on what is actually being done to use it.

The Behr-Bonz multicart has an EPROM chip of 16 Mbit or 2MBytes.

Yup, seems a good name for it.

Re: Toaster.

@R'zo

The term 'toaster' in the Commodore/Amiga world refers usually to the Video Toaster which was destined to be used on later generations of Amiga computers.

I might suggest we refer to the 2-Prong PSU VIC-20 as 'The Furnace'.

http://www.kijiji.ca/v-old-video-games/oshawa-durham-region/100-in-the-chips-commodore-64-vic-20-new-vintage/1018156636? 50$ for 100 units is a good deal but you'll be very unhappy at what you get if you buy them for the cases. Having a CIB 'In the Chips' myself, I can tell you the cases from Creat...

Re: Game cartridge faulty from new

I'm guessing this was fairly uncommon back in the day, but does anyone have a similar experience? As i said in the past, back in the early 80s, Commodore computers (and their related products) had a failure rate that would put any modern company out of business in an instant. I also found it a litt...

Re: 1540 Drive

I didn't intend to put it up as a "buy it now" but did by mistake. Thus someone jumped on it. I didn't see on your eBay auction that you announced the drive as faulty. If you deliver the drive like that, you could have trouble. However, you could cancel the sale and indicate the item to b...

Re: I/O Addresses

The question should be: what other carts do you plan to use along with your custom cartridge ? The Behr-Bonz uses the IO3 range for its control register and I know the Megacart uses these ranges. perhaps the new MIDI cart from Jim Brain uses them. I honestly don't know of any legacy cart that uses t...

Re: Heatsink

Hello I have a question (a lot currently). I'm going to install some heat sinks in my floppy drive and VIC-20, but I don't know what chips (besides the CPU) I should install them on? Anyone have suggestions? In the VIC-20, the 656X video chip really needs a heat sink. AFAIK, nothing else does. The ...

Re: Behr-Bonz 4 game cart.

I believe you stated in Ghislains post that 2k flash ram could be inserted in the 3K block. This would be preferable if not usable by the rest of the cart. The Behr-Bonz uses the IO3 area for it's control register but the IO2 area as well as the 3k RAM expansion area are unused so you can put in th...
