Xbox Vic 20 Emulator

Anyone using VICE on their Xbox? I have seen it mentioned on a few emulation sites, but I have no idea of how to download it or anything. So I was wondering if anyone has it working well and what it is like?

Cartridge games on tape - help

I picked up quite a few tapes that have cartridge games on them, but I cannot load them. How can I get these to work? One i particularly want to get working is Jelly Monsters as my Cart died about two years ago.

Australian thrift stores (or op-shops as we call them) were more or less forced to stop selling electronic items, including all game consoles and computers. The Government cracked down on thrift stores due to some legal action due to faulty electrical items causing injury and fires. Now all stores h...

Retro Gamer Magazine Verses the Vic 20

I love Retro Gamer Magazine. I was very impressed with Mayhem's recent C64 article. Well done!!! (I say recent only because here in Australia we are about three months behind in getting magazines from the UK. However, I do wonder why the Vic 20 has not been covered in the magazine. The Vic 20 was ve...

Unanswered questions arising from Cartzilla

Happy New Year Vic 20 fans!!! I was having a good read through Cartzilla the other day (a brilliant document detailing all known Vic 20 carts - a must read if you haven;t yet done so!!) and it got me thinking about some of the questions Ward Shrake poses throughout it. So I decided to post a few her...

Why would anyone want to own a VIC 20???

Hi guys, I am working on an article for an upcoming issue of Retrogaming Times about why the Vic 20 is such a great platform for classic gaming. But before I finish the article I thought I would ask some of my fellow Vic 20 enthusiasts their opinion. So here is the question, "Why would anyone w...

In 1982.

1. Tape (dataset)

2. Joystick

3. A great heap of game listings ripped out of magazines from the local library followed by hours of bloodshot eyes and cramped fingers just to get the message "SYNTAX ERROR" :)

I am feeling like a dumb bugger. My most used carts are all games. My memory expansions get used a bit, but only when loading a game that requires them.

Down loaded the game today. It is very impressive. I just cannot believe how good the music is. To me it is the best music I have ever heard on the Vic. Has anyone else heard better music? Gameplay is very good, but I do find the lack of diagonals disapointing. However, since my programming skills c...

I am really looking forward to 2006 and I have great expectations of it being a good year. The year has started out with me winning 7 carts on ebay that I either didn't have or the ones I do have are in bad condition. I think that is a great way to begin a new year.

Any Vic 20 Winter games?

In the next issue of Retrogaming Times Monthly we are planing on doing a classic Winter Games special. I have been asked to cover any Vic 20 games with a winter theme. I would appreciate it if anyone could steer me in the right direction. I have searched through my collection and have only found a c...

I think the C64 still would have been just as successful. I can remember the C64 stumbling a bit at the start becasue many thought it was a "toy" computer like the VIC20 was regarded. So maybe the C64 would have become more successful sooner as the Vic may have held it back a little.

2 versions of Frogger???

I am doing a bit of research on behalf of one of the writers for Retrogaming Times Monthly (the best free retro gaming magazine). What I am trying to find out is was there two versions of Frogger released for the Vic 20? I have the Parker Bros cart, but was there also a version put out by Sierra on ...

But as soon as the replicated Vic with the Omega Race clone by Jeff finally appears, the Klingons (or Borg, or Romulans or some other strangely painted alien with rubber appendages) will fire on the Enterprise and you will have to run off to battle stations and save the day. By the time everythign i...
