Still stuck doing emulation VIC, but looking for a real VIC to complete my collection of usable C= 8-bits. Could buy one locally, but it's missing keys, not guaranteed to work, and has no power supply. Might as well keep scouring Craigslist, Kijiji and eBay.

Not to pile on Commodore Free and its ofttimes shoddy editing, but that's precisely why I stopped reading it a long time ago. Would there be a market for a nicely edited Commodore based PDF magazine? I think so. Especially if it were free...

To be honest, I was surprised to find such a dynamic VIC community considering how much longer it's been 'out of circulation' relative to even the 64. So this forum is awesome...and if only I could find a working VIC within my limited budget, I'd love to be a full-fledged VIC user. Lots of really ne...

My name is from an incident when I was about 24 where I broke my foot and needed a permanent metal plate inserted surgically to fix it; hence 'metalfoot' and the 76 is my YOB, the VIC was Jeff's idea to combat spam when I signed up!

I kinda like my VIC extension. :) Now I just need a VIC. Other than the VICE one.

More to the point, I wonder if modern electronics, which seem to be designed to deliberately fail after a certain amount of time, are really as future-friendly as the old 8 bits have been.

I'm from SW Ontario originally, but currently in the Morden/Winkler area. Haven't been up to Dauphin, but I hear it's a pretty part of the province. Since you're in TO, do you have any contact with JPPBM? I emailed him a while back to inquire about buying a monitor, but haven't heard anything.

Good spots to find VICs?

Other than eBay, is there any good spot to look for a VIC? I have loved Commodore 8-bits since the 80s, and only had a 64 growing up. Now have a 128 too, and would love to become a VIC owner as well.

Wow. I'm on a huge Commodore kick lately, though I only own a couple 64s and a 128, and I had no idea you could do such things with the VIC. This is awesome. Downloaded your SSS package and might fiddle around with it under CBMPrgStudio. Sprites, working, fluidly, on a VIC. Who would have believed t...

I pretty much registered on this site to tell you how blown away I am by your VIC graphics demos. I never would have believed a VIC20 could do so many custom graphic modes with the original VIC chip. Wow.
