Jeez! I'm totally surprised that Commodore went to the trouble of hacking in all that Secam stuff. It doesn't seem to fit in with the whole companies' ideas at the time.

I believe there's a brand of magic eraser which is sold specifically for cleaning up PCB's. I hear it does a very nice job of cleaning copper stock before etching.

Ok, i've seen/heard the future, and it is MEGADRIVER!!!

Heavy metal renditions of everyone's favourite Mega Drive songs, played on a Megadrive guitar! It don't get much better than this!

AFAIK, the later VIC's used an improved VIC chip that ran cooler. It could therefore have a plastic package, thus reducing costs. Apparently it's less succeptible to interference too, but I don't have any experience either way. In the UK, as far as I know, the later CR VIC's are more common. I've ne...

I vote for at least a sample of the Vic to be used. That way the songs all have a unified theme.
Even better, for those that are really serious you could get a copy of Prophet64 and put some SID'ness on too.
That's my plan at least!

I think it's likely that the VIC case was used for the early prototypes, but wether any were ever sold is another matter. I don't think that Commodore would have let the C64 out with those huge cartidge ports. Especially considering the position of the RF modulator.

Wow that's brilliant!
Seriously, Upside Down is fantastic! Great work for sure. Could it be applied to run sampled music during games? Though you mention it eats up most of the raster time, so i'm guessing that's a no?

Milk and Nuts is an old NES game. It's a squirrel or something, running around trying to collect nuts before the cat (or whatever) gets you. I thought it was rubbish myself...

I think you're all looking at this the wrong way. If you were serious about burning EPROMS Ral-Clan, it would be a very simple task to build a PC based prommer that supports a whole host of different voltages and configurations. In fact, i'd say the prommer that you have is more useful for working w...

That's a pretty cool game, though as you say it's infuriatingly difficult on an emulator+keyboard combo!
I still don't have a working VIC, but I could knock you up some music in VICTracker if you'd like?
