They are cool and good quality but they are tea mugs not coffee mugs ;-) You british have been damanged by too much tea. I'm from one of the countries on the world that drink the most coffee per capita, and I can assure you that this size cups is perfect for coffee. ;) In fact, most people i know d...

Re: Denial may be offline for a while

I've been super busy, but things may calm down a bit by next week. I'm going to make the attempt sometime next weekend. During that time, don't be concerned if the forum is down for a day or two. Hopefully, all will go well and no data will be lost and we'll have a better community in place. In a l...

We DID know him pretty well, and, to say the least and be generous towards his death, he was a many-faced person with some positive sides but also extremely aggressive and unpityful sides. I believe we all can agree that Tramiel was not that sympatic, drove talent (and suppliers) away from the comp...

Re: Is there any danger in booting a VIC from a power strip?

By this, I mean, does anyone have an opinion on the differences between booting a VIC by its power switch versus having the power switch already on and powering on by turning a surge protected power strip on? Would that make the computer more likely to crash? I have all my 15+ machines on misc powe...

Wanted: The white PET-style datasette and a 1540

I grew up with the squarebox datasette, and not the one shipped with later vic 20 and c64. and I'd love to get one of those again. Plus a 1540. they should of course be in working order, as I'm going to use them. the 1540 has to accept 220v as we have here in Norway.

I'll be putting in an order soon, just to keep him busy. (well, and that I like to own one, of course)

Spice up your weekend by downloading this new version, v2.1.0. It's a little light on new features but it has had some nasty bugs fixed so it's worth downloading for that. Enjoy  I wish you've done it in C++ so you could easily port it over to OS X and Linux ;) Cause it seem awesome, just a h...

Re: all I have is the vic 20 modulator..

So I recently purchased my vic 20 and got it home. I tried to use it yesterday but cannot get it to work. I have a modulator coming out of the back of the vic 20 (plugged into the proper port). ... What else do I need to get in order to get my vic to work on a modern tv? Get a typical vic 20 -> com...

Can't recall which game was the first, but the earliest memories I have is from what I think is Miner 2049er. I was four-five at the time so I guess that is how far my memory goes back. it was about the time the c64 came out and my father were wanting to upgrade.

I'm all in for one when it is ready. :) The first experience I ever had with a computer was the vic 20. I was no more than 3-4 at that time. I recall I was too young to excel in any games, so I watched my older sister. I recall her favorite game was miner 2049er, and she was so upset when my father ...
