I reversed engineered berzek and I'm toying with my own sampler. Crude example: Vic plays the intro to "Walk this way" from aerosmith (8k expansion). http://www.box.net/files#/files/0/f/112422784/1/f_938218722 I think I can do better, quality wise and size wize, this was just a quick "...

The 64 has the same processor. The only differences are gonna be the addresses used for the screen, music, etc as well as the kernal calls, but learning the language is exactly the same.

Keyboard preference

There are "pure VIC" people, the qwerty bunch, the azerty bunch, the split-keyboard bunch... According to you, to control the moves in a viseo game WITHOUT using the joystick, what is the key combination that is A) Your favorite B) The best that would be fully portable (could be used on a ...

qwerty vs qzerty makes anything with QA or WS not great. I like to overlay my hands, left on YG and right on HB, but I can shiftleft or right to void the split personalityproblem of some people here ;-) So left hand could be ED for up-down, and right hand could be HJ for horizontal control, on which...

Well, I didn't think about "azerty" vs "qwerty". What about "ED" for up-down and "GH" for left-right, as well as my favorite "YGHB"?

Nice! It would be even nicer if you could use a joystick though. Sorry, this was really designed for the keyboard: at faster speeds, you need to be able to queue your commands through the keyboard buffer to allow you to change by just one row or column. It wouldn't be very playable with the joystic...

I couldn't help but notice that waiting for the computer to play is a bit longer than what I'd like. Would you like help to translate the slow loop to assembly?

Speech for the VIC WITHOUT special hardware

Anybody ever looked at this? Looks like it could work on a VIC. Anybody has a list of the frequencies produced by the 3 oscillators (36874,75,76) instead of notes?
