Re: VIC 20 Graphics Artist

Indeed. To the point that I wonder if he used real hardware. A decade ago I have also written a "spirograph"-type program, and I remember it being a nightmare with circles and points getting out of the screen area and thus generating a flood of errors. I wonder how he managed to circumvent...

Re: Vintage Computer Festival South West and VICs

Following your suggestions' request here, which games have you chosen to carry at the expo in the end (except Centipede, of course!) and how did the audience receive them?

Any pictures of the contemporary valve computer, perhaps? 8)

Re: Looking for the source code for Biorhythms.prg

Heh, biorhythms! :D They're also a fundamental part of the '80s living experience! 8) I remember that on TV guides there were even companies advertising pocket biorhythms calculators... I can hardly think what could happen to your life, shouldn't you always be able to instantly check your biorhyhtms...

Re: 15 Vintage games from ALA Software (rare)

One thing I can't stand about many video games back in the 80's is that each time you die, it asks "Do you want to play again?" It does this over and over and gets to be more work than it's worth. Why don't they just automatically restart you without asking. In the '80s, interacting with ...

Re: Cartridge with B/W cover?

...and here they are. I thought I remembered that also the Programmer's Aid user's manual came under the form of stapled xerox copies, but I refrained mentioning it before checking. But indeed xerox copies it is. 8) Since anyone is free to think basically anything when it comes to xerox copies and c...

Re: Cartridge with B/W cover?

Don't know if it has anything to do with games or other carts in general, but I clearly remember that my Super Expander came with a user's manual that was obviously made by stapled xerox copies.

Re: Rigel Attack

Nice and enjoyable game, thanks for writing it and sharing it with us! 8) I'm having fun going throgh the levels and see what kind of aliens will come next, and in which pattern! I don't know wether you're still managing to touch-up the game after 40 years in development :D however I think I remembe...

Re: Space Invaders / Connect-4

I am finally having occasional moments of relief, and yesterday I felt that I could perhaps enjoy half an hour of videogaming without having to "pay the fee" as aftermath. :? I immensely enjoyed the last improved version of your Space invaders port! The intro screen is absolutely perfect n...

Re: The Perils of Willy Ending

I'm pretty sure the games "ending" is that it just starts at level 1 again. Ah, OK, sorry... As I was seeing more interesting floating objects on the screen, what was actually level 1 seemed to me more advanced and thrilling than level 33. I have to agree that this possibly ranks as the l...

Very sorry to read this, but fortunately there were no casualties. It's also sad for me to think that the owner will most probably have to relacate to another country. Hard times.
