Re: Games we want to see

We've got an amazing version of Jetpac for the 8k Vic- how about a full version for a 16k Vic. That would be amazing- surely not beyond the possibility from some talented Vic 20 programmer.

Oh and what about a version of Lunar Jetman- can but dream eh.

Re: New release : Pentagorat (32k)

I downloaded Pentagorat and played it through Vice- what a game - really Knightlore ish - very nice game indeed. I've not got very far yet, but will certainly want to play it through to the end. I tried playing my own copy on a different Vic20 I had in my loft - still won't load, keep getting memory...

Tried Load"",1,1 - same blank screen - will try a 16k game.

For the record i'm using a standard datasette - i've got various other ram packs- 3k, 8k switchable 16 8 3 k - didn't have a 32k til today - so know really nothing about them.

Re: New release : Pentagorat (32k)

Ok, some weird stuff happening- and I'm pretty sure it's down to the 32k ram pack I bought on ebay. It appears to show the correct ram but on the top row, sixteenth character it constantly changes colour - so when I boot up my machine the V - as in V2 is constantly flickering - if it was an unexpand...

Re: New release : Pentagorat (32k)

My two cassettes turned up today- I also had tracked down a 32k Ram pack from ebay- which means my Vic now ready 28159 bytes free. I load the game up- it loads as you'd expect then around 30 on the tape counter the screen goes blank and nothing else happens- tried a few times- no joy. Am I doing som...

Re: New release : Pentagorat (32k)

I ordered two copies a couple of days ago- really only meant to buy one but to be honest, I'm so blown away to be buying such an amazing new Vic20 game that I'm happy to support the project. Looking forward to playing Pentagorat - looks incredible. Really looking forward to any new projects in the f...

Re: Worst VIC game ever! A definitive list.

Arcadia was brilliant- tough as old boots. I had the Spectrum version too, with more levels, but it was way slower than the Vic 20 version.

Good mind to go and load it up for a blast.

Re: Worst VIC game ever! A definitive list.

My own personal worst game ever has to be 'Wacky Waiters' - I remember playing it back in the day and hating it. - Blitz was another game that sent me to sleep too.

Lazer Zone, Matrix and Hellgate were awesome in their day- even now I occasionally just load up Lazer Zone for the thunky sonic intro.

Re: Games we want to see

I'd love to see a version of r type or gradius attempted on to Vic. The less will known x multiply is also a game which could translate well. Not having programmed for a good few years it's probably beyond me now, but would be great if some one to up the challenge.

A big thanks to Jeff-20 for hosting my old games- http://sleepingelephant.com/denial/members/abtape.zip Really appreciate it- Its spurred me on to maybe sit down and write few new ones. The Vic may be pretty basic, 3.5k with only 8 colours - but to me its chunky blocky graphics have something that a...
