Replacement Power Switch for 9V AC VIC's

Has anyone ever found a compatible power switch to replace the older 9V AC powered VIC's? I've stripped them and cleaned them successfully in the past but I have 2 where the contact is snapped inside the switch body.

Wanted: Commodore Artist Cartridge

Does not have to be boxed, just that the cartridge works, and is in decent cosmetic condition.

It's the only Commodore manufactured cartridge I'm missing, ignoring the Japanese 1001 cartridges.

Willing to buy or trade, could swap for Jelly Monsters for example.

Cheers, Rob

Suggestions wanted for my VIC display at VCF Switzerland

On the weekend of 24/25 November we will have the third VCF Switzerland event in Zurich. https://www.vcfe.ch/doku.php?id=start Continuing my recurring Commodore theme for a further year, this time I will be focusing on the VIC, and am thinking the title of the exhibit has to be "VIC-20, The Fri...

Cartridge Label Template

Does anyone have a printable template for standard VIC cartridges from Commodore?

I have several cartridges which have lost their labels over the years and I wanted to print out some replacements. Any common file format is OK.

cheers, Rob

What are the chances that a chip manufacturer would go to the trouble of making fake VIC chips? It's not manufacturers, it's brokers and resellers, and it's very little trouble at all as there is plenty of 40-pin DIL packages which could be relabeled as a 6560/6561's. Some of the 6581's that appear...

Re: 6560-101 VIC chips:

I have recently run across an IC surplus supplier in China that claims to stock the NTSC VIC chip (NOS). They told me that there were only 50 left at $2.80 each (US) and that the minimum order is 20 units. I only wanted 5 or 10, but had to order 20 of them. Provided these are genuine and not fakes,...

Hi Mike, having also burnt many hours working on retro projects on various platforms when I could have been spending time with the wife and kids, I completely sympathise. I too have had plenty of people express interest and say "I must build one of those" or "will you make me one?&quo...

I love the VIC because, as others have said, it was my first (WGB 0000647). At the time though, it got dumped in the attic as soon as I got a 64, which got dumped for my A1000 which got dumped for my first 486 PC and so on... At some point though, they all got dusted off and I took the time to learn...

I don't get at all why they made three different TED computers, that must have been expensive keeping three models of the same machine in production. Bil covers the history and decisions (both good and bad) of the TED machines here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPD5N43VIsk In a nutshell, Commodor...

I just thought of another thing I would change about the VIC: the default character color value . Why is it white (value 1)? It should be black (value zero), so that a program can POKE to the default white screen and still be seen! I can't understand the logic of making it white if all screen locat...

Hi Macc - within reason, yes. Depends on your time requirement. As you know, I live in Switzerland but I'm a Brit and my folks still live there. I'll be back there at xmas but my mum will likely come out and visit before then so could bring them with. How many do you have and what do you know about ...
