Re: VIC cartridge PCB eagle

Sorry for being behind the curve but how do you actually get the board made once you have a satisfactory design file?

Re: Games we want to see

No Vic-20 version to my knowledge. I think a Vic-20 port would be of a similar standard albeit with blockier graphics, perhaps the sound would be better. It might even be possible to port the C64 version replacing the level data (for 22 columns) and the sprites with software sprites. I don't think t...

Re: In the making: Arukanoido – an Arkanoid clone

Always thought 1st September was a tad ambitious, perhaps Christmas..?

Anyway, no worries, just release it when it's ready.

Re: Games we want to see

should be possible, but the blockiness of multicolor mode would make meaningful depiction of kung fu moves challenging.

Re: Cannot load cassettes

Thanks for reply. What is it? Where can i found it? You can find used ones on eBay. This is a new equivalent replacement part: http://www.mouser.com/search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=0virtualkey0virtualkeyW65C22N6TPG-14 When you say new, is that 'new' or NOS.. Can we get them to make some 6561s?

Re: Cannot load cassettes

Could be several things.. The tape could be of poor quality The head could be out of alignment The tape deck cable or vic connector could be broken. The tape deck itself could be faulty. The VIC tape interface circuitry [VIAs] could be faulty. Try cleaning and demagnetising the tape heads and cleani...

Re: Raster split and $9002

Ok some progress... :D Thanks to the discovery by Tokra :D that position 68 gives identical behaviour on the real h/w and VICE - I have modified my code to achieve a stable result on both using this value. I've also eliminated the artefacts present above the lettering in ex4 (real h/w) by setting th...

Re: How to use redefined characters in CC65

The reason to put code in a specific spot is for applications that do banking. Putting concise, shared pieces of code in an appropriately sized chunk of RAM is a big help and one of the great features of the linker in cc65. Not only banking, but anywhere a non-contiguous memory layout is required o...

Re: How to use redefined characters in CC65

I didn't forget RAM1 but had nothing to put in it.. You will need to split your code between MAIN and RAM1 (as the UDCs sit in between). Move some of your functions into another file and specify the segment at the top, eg #pragma codeseg ("RAM1CODE") then add it to the cfg file in the SEGM...

I've updated the sample to use the latest version of CC65 and the supplied config file format.

Re: How to use redefined characters in CC65

yes, I just swapped in the latest CC65 and I can get it to compile by updating the CFG file, but the characters don't show...

I'll have a further play when I get some more time...

Re: How to use redefined characters in CC65

I'm not sure how old it is, but it's a standard CC65 distribution. Not sure what you mean by 'modify'? The CFG file can be arranged as you like it. You asked for an example of using UDCs in CC65 and the example does just that. You will need to work out how to get from the sample to meet your own nee...
