Re: HASL for cartridges? (split/OT from: Cheese & Onion)

Haven't tried but I guess spraying the port and a cart with switch cleaner and then inserting a few times would also work..

Re: New physical cartridge release: Cheese And Onion

It looks to me like the risks are more theoretical than anything! Maybe new connectors are gold plated but I can't see gold plating on my Vic connector and I'd be far more worried about the Vic chip lasting 36 years [if I were able to live that long] than the cart connector. Also, cannot the sandpap...

Re: New physical cartridge release: Cheese And Onion

So is it the case that the only possible damage would be if the cartridge is left plugged in (causing a mild/slow corrosive effect over time) from the different metals? If this is the case I can sleep easy with the plugging in for the odd session of play a few times a year... It would be nice to get...

Re: New physical cartridge release: Cheese And Onion

Surely the risk is negligible with the amount of "inserting" likely to occur on an enthusiast's Vic-20 these days with megacarts and the like? I think my mega-cart has been in place for the last 5 years.

Re: New physical cartridge release: Cheese And Onion

Ok, was just about to order, but £35 becomes £41+ with shipping. Is there no cheaper price for UK?

Re: New physical cartridge release: Cheese And Onion

Thanks, one more question if I may..

On the shop link it states both "pre-order" and "in-stock".

This is a bit confusing - is there a lead time?

just wondered, are there any plans to include the game on a (suitably priced) penultimate cart as opposed to a dedicated single purpose cart?

Re: New physical cartridge release: Cheese And Onion

Looks amazing!

Fantastic graphics and scrolling.

Is it only going to be available on cartridge or will there be a digital version eventually?

Re: Load VIC-20 Tape Images

I always found back in the day that recording on only one channel worked best. Plug your phone into the cassette deck (using a 3.5mm jack to twin phono plug lead) and record using tap-dancer connecting just one of the phono connectors.

Re: 6561 Die Shot Reversing Explorations

I'm watching this thread with interest and find it very impressive. Thanks!

What is the end goal? Are you aiming to get to a position (eventually) where new 6561s can be fabricated?

Have you tried resetting the nvram where the config is stored? Tells you how in the instructions.
