We reviewed FiZZ in the last issue of Zzap64, hope you enjoyed it (I certainly did!)

Re: VIC-1001 main board
Mayhem, They certainly did make Early VIC-20 computers in Japan. It goes like this.. The VIC-1001 was created and sold in Japan by Tony Takai's team and being produced and launched in Japan, and then the order came down from the Commodore hierarchy (Most likely from Michael Tomczyk and Jack Tramiel...

Re: VIC-1001 main board
I suppose it's possible, they made regular Vic20 computers in Japan, my PAL Vic is from there.
Re: APPLE BUG
Yeah only a TAP file in GB20 mate, someone will need to convert it to PRG or D64 for you.

Re: Cartridges!!!
I will have to take a shot of my new VIC20 cartridge shelves once I have unpacked the games from my flat move. Currently doing C64, VIC20 will be next. Would probably make your ten year old persona wet himself

Re: Jeff's VIC 20 Book
Yeah it's something daft with USPS in general regarding envelopes. As soon as there's cardboard backing inside, or it's a bubble mailer, it instantly turns it from letter to package if the envelope size is above around 6" x 8".

Re: "Vic Tricks" program by Jeff Minter
The tape has no label on it, literally. It's blank both sides. Simple inlay, and printed folded instruction sheet. I'll try to take a shot when I can!

Re: "Vic Tricks" program by Jeff Minter
I used to use MTAP on an old 486 with the datasette, but all that equipment has gradually broken down. Plus then getting the TAP off 3.5" disks onto modern equipment! Don't have any tape device except for the C2N and 1531 here. Hence the need for new equipment.

And away it goes on itch.io too! More exposure. Hopefully means any nasty little errata missed can be picked up and fixed too. Congrats

Re: "Vic Tricks" program by Jeff Minter
I tried, a great many years ago, without any success sadly. Something about the transfers VICE just didn't like. And now the equipment I used to use for transferring tapes is rather defunct. If anyone wants to get me a DC2N or similar, I'm all ears heh.

Re: Most recent Gamebase with Newest VIC-20 Games?
I have neither the time nor the inclination or skill to consider that, so once I hand it over, it can be done with in whatever manner someone sees fit! Which includes all the scans and screenshots too.

Re: Most recent Gamebase with Newest VIC-20 Games?
The next GB20 is still on my HD, had been for years, was being slowly worked on and revised, and compatible with the v0.3 frontend for Gamebase itself... and then life changed, I became a dad and it's ground to quite a halt. I'm hoping slowly, eventually, I can at least bring it up to a point I can ...
